Tumbles

A tumble win doesn’t end when the symbols pay. The winning symbols disappear, the remaining ones drop down to fill the gaps, and new symbols fall in from above to complete the grid. If those new positions form another win, the process repeats. Another payout, another removal, another drop. A single spin can resolve across four or five consecutive tumbles before the grid finally settles without a new combination, and each of those steps is paid individually. The whole sequence runs on one stake.

Tumbles go by several names depending on the developer. Cascades, avalanches, and reactions all describe the same core process. It’s a chain-reaction removal and replacement system that keeps a spin in motion for as long as wins keep forming. The feature is especially common in scatter pays and cluster pay formats, where the grid-based win structure pairs naturally with symbols clearing in groups rather than along lines. Many tumble games also attach a multiplier to the chain, incrementing with each consecutive tumble so that later steps in a sequence carry more weight than the first.

Does each tumble in a chain count as a separate spin?

No. The entire tumble sequence, however many steps it runs, resolves within a single spin. Only one stake is deducted regardless of how many tumble steps follow the initial drop. This is an important distinction for understanding the feature in demo play, since a session with frequent tumble chains can look more active than the spin count alone suggests.

Do tumble multipliers carry over between spins or reset each time?

In regular play, tumble multipliers almost always reset to their base value at the start of each new spin. Where they become significant is inside the free spins round, where many tumble games allow the multiplier to build and hold across the entire bonus rather than resetting with each spin. That distinction between regular play and bonus behaviour is usually the most important thing to understand about how a tumble multiplier actually functions in a given title.
