Sticky Bees Demo by Pragmatic Play
Sugar Rush marks a random set of squares on a 7×7 grid and grows a multiplier on each one. Sticky Bees keeps that board, keeps the random marking, and pays the swap out in wilds. Land the golden Super Wild bee on a marked square, and the symbol standing there becomes wild, with more bees flying out to other marked squares behind it. Blocks of 5 matching symbols connected up, down, or across pay, then clear away for new symbols to drop in. The dressing is a lit forest clearing, fruit and card royals in bright plastic, and one bee that matters more than anything else on the board. The grid will be familiar to anyone who has played Pragmatic Play’s cluster games, and the reward waiting on an activated square is a wild rather than a growing figure.
Free Play Features
Marked Positions
The marking happens before you touch the reels. Every standard spin flags between 12 and 19 positions at random, and a flag pays nothing on its own; it only matters if a Super Wild finds it. Inside free spins, the count tightens and stays fixed for the whole feature instead of a fresh draw each spin, the one structural difference between a triggered round and normal play.
Nothing about a flagged square changes the odds of what lands on it, since the draw covers positions rather than symbols. Marked squares activated during a free spin stay wild until the feature ends, so coverage builds across the round.
The Super Wild Bee
The golden bee is the symbol the whole game is built around. When a Super Wild lands on a marked position, from a spin or from a tumble, that position activates, and the symbol occupying it turns wild until the tumbles from that spin finish. In normal play, the same hit sends 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 further Super Wilds out to other marked positions, so one bee rarely arrives alone. A wide spread of flags gives that fan-out somewhere to land.
The Free Spins Ladder

Four BONUS symbols award 7 free spins, and each additional BONUS symbol in the same hit adds one more. The wooden counter beside the reels tracks them as they arrive, and 3 or more BONUS symbols during the round add another spin, so a round has no stated end point. Special reels come into play once the feature starts, and every free spin guarantees 1, 2, or 3 Super Wilds into marked positions rather than leaving them to chance. A round can also stop early. Should the running total reach 10,000x the bet, the game pays that total and any spins still owed go unplayed.
The 100x Bonus Buy

One buy option exists: 100x the bet ($200 at the demo’s $2 stake). Taking it drops 4 or more BONUS symbols into the next spin and starts the feature from there, with the same fixed marking a triggered round gets. There are no tiered prices to compare and no ante bet anywhere, so the plaque is the only shortcut on offer. The price also tracks the stake rather than a fixed cash figure, so it reads 100x whatever the bet is set to. Anyone who wants the round without paying for it has to work the BONUS counter up to 4 on a single hit.
How to Play
Five matching symbols touching each other is the smallest result worth anything on this 7×7 board, and where they land matters as much as what they are, because the game marks squares by position and takes no notice of the symbol standing on them.
Winning symbols clear, the survivors fall, and fresh ones drop into the gaps until a spin stops producing blocks. Two blocks landing together both count towards the spin total. The game pays out once the tumbling stops, so a spin is worth the sum of everything it produced. A modest opening result often ends up the smallest part of what the spin was worth.
Against Sugar Rush
Sticky Bees shares its chassis with Sugar Rush, down to the 7×7 board, the minimum block of 5, and the random marking. They split on what an activated position carries. On that game, an active square carries a multiplier that keeps climbing as further wins land on it, so coverage compounds late in a round. Here, an active square carries a wild worth one symbol in whatever block it joins, no matter how long it has been active. That makes Sticky Bees the easier of the two slots to read and the flatter of the two to finish.
RTP
Stakes go from $0.20 to $240, with no ante bet and no super-spin mode attached, so the figure on the bet button is the whole cost of a spin. The bet menu carries both the coin value and the bet level, and the same range applies whether you buy the round or wait for it. The demo returns 96.06%, and the bought round returns 95.99%. Sticky Bees ships with a MEDIUM volatility badge, though this review files it a tier higher at High, closer to how a 7×7 grid with a 7-spin feature actually behaves.
Symbol Pays
Strawberries top the table at 125x the bet for a block of 20 or more, while the J and Q royals start at 0.25x for a block of 5. Block size drives everything in between, and the step from 15 to 19 symbols up to 20 or more is the steepest one on the board for every symbol. Cherries and the four royals fill the lower half, where a block of 5 hands back less than the stake, so a spin usually needs its tumbles to amount to anything.

Ultimate Slots Verdict
Sticky Bees swaps a multiplier grid for sticky wilds and keeps everything else about the board, making it easier to follow and flatter to finish. Operators can run it at 95.02% or 94.06% as well as the version the demo shows, so the active setting is worth a look. Pleasant in free play, short of memorable.
✓ What We Like
- One Super Wild hit can light a wide slice of the grid, because it fans further bees out to other marked squares
- Marked squares keep their positions for the whole feature, so free spins build coverage instead of starting over
- A round has no stated maximum length, since more BONUS symbols keep extending it
- The maximum stake is a real one, with no ante bet or boosted mode inflating what the game shows
- A single buy option, with no tiered prices to weigh up before taking it
✗ What Could Be Better
- An activated square is worth one wild symbol, so covering more of the grid never compounds the way a multiplier board does
- Buying the round costs a slice of return against normal play, so the shortcut is not free
- Free spins open short, and extending a round depends entirely on more BONUS symbols arriving during it
Detailed Review
The marking finally has room to work in free spins. The count locks between 16 and 19 squares for the duration; every spin guarantees a small handful of Super Wilds into them, and each square activated stays wild until the round is over. Seven spins is a short window, and coverage carrying forward instead of resetting saves it. The last spin usually works a very different grid from the first.
A wild is worth one symbol, and that is the honest limit here. The multiplier version of this board raises the value of everything passing through an active square, whereas these squares only join in. Wide coverage still helps, since a wild in the right place joins two neighbouring groups into one block of 10 or 12, but the reward stops growing once a square is lit.
The paytable is modest against what the cap allows. The best single block the table offers is far short of the maximum, which arrives only if one sequence stacks several large blocks together. Pragmatic Play released this one in May 2023, and it has stayed one of the plainer boards in the studio’s cluster range, with no multiplier, no ante, and one price on the plaque.
Anyone who found the multiplier grid hard to track will get on with this board, because a lit square means a wild and nothing else. Anyone who came for the compounding will notice its absence by the third free spin. It is an easy grid to leave running in free play, and Sweet Bonanza covers the same fruit-and-tumble idea if sticky squares are not the draw.
