Laughing Buddha Slot Demo

Laughing Buddha prices its Buy Feature at 46.43x your stake, and that one number frames the whole slot. The purchase lands three gold-pot Scatters and opens 8 free games. It doesn’t choose the symbol that expands through those games. The three pots still reveal it, and the reveal can be the gold Buddha or a purple 10. So, the buy is easy to price and harder to love. You pay for the trigger, and the round’s worth then comes down to which symbol the pots reveal. This demo lets you watch that happen without spending anything.
Habanero sets the reels inside a red torii-style gate with gold lantern posts, under a pink-lilac sky with pagoda silhouettes on both sides. The green brush-letter logo hangs beneath a red gate roof. The Buddha himself is all gold, eyes squeezed shut in a broad smile, an ingot raised in one hand. He is drawn bigger than his tile, so on the reels, he spills over the top of it.

Gold Pot Trigger
The gold pot is the Scatter. It’s round and ornate, with a domed lid, side handles, and cloud-scroll engraving, and it glows when it lands, drawn larger than its tile. Pots appear on reels 1, 3 and 5. Three of them anywhere on those reels award 8 free games, and the three pots also pay 1x the total bet. Unlike the line pays, the pot pay ignores the 28 lines and counts pots wherever they land on their three reels. Two pots on reels 3 and 5 leave the trigger one short, which is the state the board frame above shows.
Nine Possible Reveals

When the feature starts, each of the three pots reveals a symbol. The list covers all nine paying picture and letter symbols, from the gold Buddha down to the purple 10; the pearl Wild and the pot itself aren’t on it. On each of the 8 games, the revealed symbol expands across the reels before the game pays, with Wild and Scatter symbols excluded from the expansion.
A Buddha and a 10 pay very differently once they fill the reels. This is what each possible reveal pays for five on a line.
| Revealed symbol | Five on a line |
|---|---|
| Laughing Buddha | 35.71x |
| Dragon | 17.86x |
| Gold ingot | 14.29x |
| Jade ornament | 10.71x |
| A | 8.93x |
| K | 5.71x |
| Q | 3.21x |
| J | 2.14x |
| 10 | 1.07x |
That table has the whole spread of the feature. The four pictures pay 10.71x or more for five, and the five letters pay 8.93x or less. The feature can retrigger, and a retrigger keeps the symbol the pots revealed.
Pearl Wild Multipliers
The Wild is a glossy pearl, white shading to pink and lilac, with WILD in chunky gold-orange letters across its lower half. Apart from the Scatter, it substitutes for anything on the reels. Each pearl reveals x2 or x3 at random, and the game multiplies a win that includes one by that figure. Two pearls in the same win don’t stack. The game applies whichever multiplier is highest, so an x2 beside an x3 still means x3. A line of five pearls pays 35.71x before any multiplier, the same as five Buddhas.
Buy Feature Price
The gold diamond plaque in the top right corner is the Buy Feature, and it costs 46.43x. Pay it, and only three Scatters land, starting 8 initial free games. That is the whole purchase. The buy rule says nothing about which symbol expands, so the pots still decide that, and the price is the same whether they reveal a Buddha or a J. For scale, Habanero puts the game’s maximum multiplier at 2,002x. In the demo, the buy can be repeated back to back, so the range of reveals is easy to see for yourself.
How to Play
Expanding Symbol Rounds
A free game here resolves in a set order. The symbol the pots revealed expands across the reels, Wilds and Scatters excluded, and then the game counts wins along the 28 fixed lines. Wins are read from reel 1 rightwards, so a revealed symbol on the first reels is the part that has to connect.
The expanded symbol pays at its normal paytable value. A revealed J or 10 fills the reels with letters worth 2.14x and 1.07x for five. A revealed dragon or ingot falls between, at 17.86x and 14.29x for five. A revealed Buddha fills them with the joint top symbol, the one that pays the same as the Wild. Nothing else about the 8 games changes with the reveal. The round can retrigger, and when it does the chosen symbol carries over unchanged.
Outside the feature, the board is a plain 5×3 with 28 fixed lines and the pearl Wild’s random multiplier.
RTP
The game returns 96.64% in normal play; buying the feature returns 96.57%. Volatility is High by Habanero’s label, meaning results between features can swing a long way in either direction.
Payouts
The pearl Wild and the Buddha share the top row at 35.71x for five. Below them, the dragon, ingot, and jade ornament step down to 10.71x, and the five letters range from 8.93x for A to 1.07x for 10. Fours and threes follow the same order, with every letter except A and K at 0.18x for three. Three gold pots pay 1x wherever they land on reels 1, 3 and 5.

Ultimate Slots Verdict
3.9/5 for a buy that is easy to read.
Three gold pots and 8 free games cost 46.43x, and the expanding reveal gives the round real range. The price buys the trigger and leaves the symbol to the reveal, which decides the round.
Hits What we like
- The Buy Feature lands exactly three Scatters for 8 free games at 46.43x.
- A revealed symbol expands across the reels on each free game, with Wilds and Scatters left out.
- Five Buddhas pay as much as five Wilds, 35.71x.
- A retrigger keeps the same symbol the pots revealed.
Misses What could be better
- A revealed 10 pays 1.07x for five.
- Two pearl multipliers in one win do not multiply each other. The higher one applies.
Detailed Review
Reviewing Habanero’s Laughing Buddha
At 46.43x, the Buy Feature in this Habanero slot is simple to judge, because its rule names what you get. Three gold pots land and 8 free games start. The rule doesn’t name the symbol. That still comes from the reveal, so the same 46.43x can open a round where the Buddha fills the reels or one where the purple 10 does. Nothing in the rule promises a premium. Is the buy worth it? Yes, for anyone who wants the feature on demand and accepts that the price buys a chance at a good symbol, not the symbol itself.
The dragon, the ingot, and the jade ornament get the same care as the Buddha. The dragon is gold with a red mane and an open, fanged mouth. The ingot is a boat-shaped yuanbao resting on loose coins against dark green, and the jade piece is green with a gold cord and tassel on a purple ground. Even the letters are brushed like calligraphy, A in gold, K orange-red, Q green, J blue, and 10 purple, which helps when you’re reading a revealed letter at a glance. The win screen keeps the theme going, with BIG WIN in green brush letters inside a red-and-gold moon-gate frame.
None of this makes the round small. An expanded Buddha pays like the Wild, 35.71x when five fill a line, and a retrigger keeps the chosen symbol, so a good reveal can go on paying after the first 8 games. The red gate and gold palette will look familiar to anyone who browses Chinese slots, and the look isn’t where this game stands out. The reveal is. A slot built this way makes that one moment the thing you wait for, and it’s honest to say how it feels. A 10 after a 46.43x buy lands flat, and a Buddha makes the same eight games look like a different feature.
So does the buy earn a place in your free play? In the demo, it does, because repeated buys show what a letter round and a premium round each look like before any judgement about the price. Laughing Buddha arrived from Habanero in August 2022 with one idea at its centre, and this review comes back to it every time. The price is one number and the symbol is a reveal, and knowing that is the whole skill of using the button.
