Load up Hot Hot Fruit, and before you get into the features, the atmosphere lands first. The soundtrack is genuinely feel-good, upbeat, and a weird combo of futuristic and retro 80’s, which is a strange but is an effective pairing for a classic fruit slot. Don’t ask me how that works, but that’s the feeling we got when we played the game! The subtle movement animations on the symbols carry the same energy. It plays like a retro cabinet that had a very good time in the 1980s and came back sharper for it (or that’s what we’re going with anyway!).
Once you settle in, what’s actually going on is a 5×3 fruit slot with 15 fixed paylines, one random symbol-multiplying feature, and a Free Games trigger built around directional Wild patterns rather than scatter counts. The demo reveals the logic of both quickly enough.
This fires randomly on any spin, before wins are evaluated. When it triggers, symbols on the reels can transform into upgraded versions of themselves. Most symbols (Wild, BAR, Plum, Orange, and Watermelon) can turn into a doubled variant, counting as 2 symbols for win purposes. The 7 is treated differently, transforming into a tripled version that counts as 3 symbols. Not every symbol on the grid is guaranteed to transform when the feature triggers. Each one has an independent random chance of upgrading. The practical effect is that the same combination of symbols on the reels can pay out at a significantly higher count than a standard spin would produce.
The Free Games trigger is tied entirely to Wild positions, and the direction of coverage determines how many spins you receive. Landing 3 or more Wilds from left to right OR right to left awards 6 free games, with the minimum requirement being Wilds on reels 1 and 2, or on reels 4 and 5. Landing 3 or more Wilds in both directions simultaneously awards 12 free games, which requires Wilds on reels 1 and 2 AND on reels 4 and 5 at the same time. Since Wilds only appear on reels 1, 2, 4, and 5 (reel 3 never receives them), the trigger geometry is fixed and predictable once you know which reels are in play.
During the round, any symbol that forms part of a winning combination locks in place for the remaining free games. Locked symbols can double or triple up and stay that way for the rest of the round, stacking value as more symbols lock across subsequent spins. Up to 14 symbols can lock in total, in random order. The feature is played at the bet of the triggering spin and cannot retrigger.
Two Wild variants exist. The single Wild substitutes for all symbols and lands only on reels 1, 2, 4, and 5. The double-stacked Wild Wild also substitutes for all symbols but does not carry a direct payout of its own. Both variants can be upgraded by the Hot Hot Feature during any spin.
The minimum bet is €0.15 (€0.01 per line across 15 fixed lines), with a maximum of €3,000 per spin. Wins pay left to right, with only the longest matching combination per symbol paid per line. The multipliers below are derived from in-game paytable values recorded at a €7.50 total bet and converted to x-bet figures. All values scale proportionally with your stake.
| Symbol | 10 | 9 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7 * | 40x | 33.3x | 26.7x | 20x | 10x | 6.7x | 2.7x | 0.7x |
| BAR | 60x | 20x | 16.7x | 13.3x | 11.7x | 5x | 2x | 0.3x |
| Plum | 50x | 16.7x | 13.3x | 10x | 8x | 4x | 1.7x | 0.3x |
| Orange | 40x | 13.3x | 11.7x | 8.3x | 6.7x | 3.3x | 1.7x | 0.3x |
| Watermelon | 33.3x | 11.7x | 10x | 6.7x | 5x | 2.7x | 1.7x | 0.3x |
* The 7 has an extended pay range reaching 15-of-a-kind: 11=50x / 12=53.3x / 13=80x / 14=266.7x / 15=1666.7x. These upper counts are only reachable when the Hot Hot Feature upgrades multiple 7 symbols on the same spin. High volatility means long stretches without either feature firing are built into the math, and the 3-of-a-kind returns on most symbols reflect that design. The free play version runs identically to the real-money build, so it is the right place to get a feel for how often the Hot Hot Feature actually shows up.
