Habanero Systems B.V. was founded in 2010 in Malta, initially producing games for the European market. A buyout by a European investment group in 2012 significantly changed the direction; the new ownership pivoted toward Asia, and by 2014, the company had opened a Manila office and signed a distribution partnership with Asia Gaming to reach players across the region. The studio also developed a strong foothold in Italy before extending into Spain, Latin America, Sweden, South Africa, and beyond.
