The step from five scatters to six is the big one, from 25 games to 100. Scatters count on any of the six reels, reel 1 included, which the Wild can’t reach. In free play here, the scatter is easy to pick out, since it’s just the words FREE GAMES in slanted gold-orange letters with a red outline and no tile behind them.
Retriggers From Two Scatters
After the round starts, the threshold drops to two. Two scatters add 5 more games, three add 8, four add 15, five add 25, and six add another 100. Above that two-scatter row, the retrigger scale matches the one that started the round, so six scatters inside the bonus are worth the same 100 games as six that open a round. Each award adds games to the ones still left in the round. The 5 games for two scatters are the smallest award in either table, and they mean a round that opens on 8 games can run far longer than its first count.

Diamond Wild
A light-blue cut diamond on a dark-blue tile is the Wild. The diamond is confined to reels 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 and covers for any paying symbol, though never the scatter. During free games, it keeps to the same reels 2 to 6. That makes Buffalo Blitz a buffalo slot that keeps its Wild off reel 1, so each winning way has to start with a real symbol there. In free games, the diamond can randomly multiply a win it substitutes in by x2, x3, or x5.

How to Play
4,096 Ways From Reel 1
Every spin in Buffalo Blitz plays all 4,096 ways across six reels of four rows. Matching symbols on adjacent reels form a way, read from left to right and beginning on the leftmost reel, in any position on each reel, which gives each reel four chances to join a way. Scatters are the exception and count anywhere. Two of an animal on reels 1 and 2 is already a paying way, while the cards need three reels. The buffalo can also land stacked, two or three high on one reel.
Since the diamond never appears on reel 1, the leftmost reel has to show the symbol itself before a way can start.
Game RTP
Playtech sets the stake through a coin value, and a spin is 40 coins at whatever coin value you choose, which is why the game lists its pays in coins rather than cash. The table below does the conversion for every symbol and shows each pay as x the total bet per way. Across a very large number of spins, the long-run return works out at 95.96%. Our Review
Inside the free games, two scatters are worth 5 more games, and that small first row of the retrigger table matters more than any other. The starting table asks for three, and a round opened that way begins on 8 games, which is short. Once the round is live, a pair is enough, six still add 100, and nothing limits how many times it can happen. The diamond’s random x2, x3, or x5 multipliers belong to that stretch as well, so a long round of free games is where Buffalo Blitz has all of its best moments.
Epic Ape: Blitz Cash Collect also plays 4,096 ways on six reels of four rows with a blue diamond Wild. Buffalo Blitz uses that frame for ways, scatters, and one Wild and stops there, and the plainness suits it.
The weak part is the paytable, which hasn’t aged well since the 2016 release. Six buffalo pay 7.5x per way, six bears or moose 5x, and six aces or kings 3.75x, so way wins between bonuses are small. Watching the free games count fall while hoping a scatter pair adds to it again is where this game holds your attention. Strip the bonus away, and there’s little left to talk about. With it, this is a simple slot and a sound one.
