Buffalo-genre slots tend to follow a familiar script. Big animals, canyon backdrops, scatter-triggered free spins, repeat. Buffalo Ways knows the territory but does something structurally different from most entries in the space. Fa Chai has split the base game into two independent reel sets stacked vertically, each running its own Bull scatter count and its own Dream Catcher tracker simultaneously.
It is a layout you do not see often, and once the free spins round merges everything into a single 6×5 grid with 7,776 ways, the shift in scale is immediately felt. A country-rock guitar track runs underneath it all, part Western saloon, part something with a bit more edge to it, and it fits the desert setting well without becoming repetitive.
Standard play runs across two separate 5-reel grids, one sitting above the other. Each grid operates with 243 ways to win and tracks its own symbols independently. The top reels carry the red-aura Bull scatter and the top grid’s Dream Catcher positions. The bottom reels carry the blue-aura Bull scatter and the bottom grid’s own Dream Catcher counters. Wins on each grid are evaluated separately. This separation is the defining structural element of the slot and changes how you read the reels compared to a conventional single-matrix game.
When a Dream Catcher symbol lands, it marks that grid position with a green ring and stays active for 3 rounds. If another Dream Catcher lands within those 3 rounds, the counter resets to 3. If no new Dream Catcher appears in time, all rings on that grid disappear. The top and bottom reel counters run independently. A Dream Catcher on the top grid does not affect the bottom grid’s ring positions or timer. Different bet levels and Extra Bet mode each maintain their own ring positions and round counters.
When reels stop and a collecting symbol overlaps with an active ring, the ring collects it. Collecting Coin symbols increases the ring’s multiplier. When the ring then collects Bull head symbols, the score reward from that collection is multiplied by the ring’s accumulated figure. The two outcomes are sequential. Coins build the multiplier, Bull heads spend it on score rewards.
The red-aura Bull appears on the top reels only and the blue-aura Bull appears on the bottom reels only. Both symbol types are exclusive to the base game. Collecting 3, 4, or 5 of either type triggers the Free Game, with 3 awarding 8 rounds, 4 awarding 12, and 5 awarding 16. If both colours trigger simultaneously, their round counts combine.
Bull head symbols appear in three aura colours (red, blue, purple) and land carrying Grand, Maxi, Major, Minor, or Mini jackpot labels, or score rewards. Coin symbols in matching colours award score rewards or deliver additional Bull head symbols. The purple variants are reserved for the Free Game.
The Free Game merges both reel sets into a single 6×5 grid with 7,776 ways to win. The jump from 243 ways is not just a result of the extra reel column. The Free Game uses a wider adjacency structure than the base game, meaning valid winning connections span a broader range of positions across the grid. The Dream Catcher remains active throughout the entire Free Game session, rather than on a 3-round timer. The purple-aura Bull scatter takes over from the red and blue variants. Collecting 2, 3, 4, or 5 purple Bulls during the Free Game adds 3, 5, 8, or 10 extra rounds respectively. The Free Game can retrigger repeatedly up to a maximum of 50 rounds total.
Activating Extra Bet increases the stake to 1.5x the original bet. The Dream Catcher upgrades to an enhanced version, and active rings may randomly appear carrying a multiplier rather than starting at a base value. Winning points in Extra Bet mode are calculated as the original bet multiplied by the relevant odds.
A Buy Feature is available, with a Super Free Spins entry costing 75x the base bet. Progressive jackpots are also part of the feature set, though values vary by operator configuration.
All values below are shown at the in-game reference bet of 60 units and scale proportionally at any stake. Bets start from €0.60 per spin in our demo.
