About Game

Tsar Wars Overview

Twenty-five symbols. That’s what the meter down the left of the grid counts, and every symbol a winning cluster destroys feeds it. Fill it with no wins left on the board, and a Destruction Spin follows, with Wild Rush, Force Shift, and xBomb Wild all firing at least once. Fill it again on that spin, and the revolution starts properly. This is Nolimit City on a 6×6 cluster grid, a format the studio rarely touches, dressed in Soviet space-opera garb.

Demo Features

Clusters and Big Symbols

Winning symbols vanish, new ones drop into the space they leave, and each fresh avalanche after a win adds one to the multiplier. Symbols come at three sizes: 1×1, 2×2, and 3×3, so one character can hold four or nine positions and carry a cluster alone. A Big Symbol with no room beneath it fills that gap with more of itself.

Trapped Wilds and Explosions

Wild Rush turns 2 to 5 paying symbols Wild. Force Shift swaps 1, 2, or 3 of them for other paying symbols. xBomb Wild converts 1s to 3s into bombs, and each bomb detonates before the next collapse, clearing its neighbours and increasing the multiplier by 1. Across all three is the Trapped Wild, a highlight on any symbol that turns Wild the moment a win or a blast removes it, and holds through the next avalanche.

Revolution Spins

Refill the meter during a Destruction Spin, and you pick the bonus yourself. Wild Rush, Force Shift, or xBomb Wild, and the choice sets the round at 5, 6, or 7 spins; the feature you chose fires on every spin while the other two appear at random. Play opens on an x15 win multiplier, and 30 collected symbols award 2 extra spins and double it. Bombs Away! is where a round stops at 19,775x the bet; however much the board is still adding.

Tsar Side Spins and xBoost

Land the Tsar Side Bonus during a Destruction Spin with the meter already full, and 6 Tsar Side Spins run instead; all three features are guaranteed every spin, same x15 start, same 30-symbol double. The Nolimit Booster charges per spin from the lightning button, 5x the bet for one guaranteed feature, 12x for two, 30x for a guaranteed Destruction Spin, and 60x for a 2×2 or 3×3 Trapped Wild. The studio prices the modes outright too: Revolution Spins at 100x, Tsar Side Spins at 500x, and a Lucky Draw 50/50 at 300x.

How to Play

The Destruction Meter

Tsar Wars help screen showing the Destruction Spin meter and the Revolution Spins rules
The meter wants 25 collected symbols before a Destruction Spin is handed over, and 25 more on that spin to open Revolution Spins at x15.

Every symbol cleared by a winning cluster is collected, and 25 of them fill the meter. It empties after each spin, so those 25 have to arrive within one run of avalanches rather than accumulate over several separate spins. Clusters themselves are simple, five or more of the same symbol connected horizontally or vertically, and each cluster pays once at its best rate. When the meter fills and the board has nothing left to pay, a Destruction Spin arrives with all three features guaranteed. Collect another 25 during that spin, and Revolution Spins begin. Within either bonus mode, the target moves to 30, and reaching it adds 2 spins and doubles the running win multiplier. Nothing else opens a bonus here, which makes a long avalanche run worth more than its win total suggests. On a touchscreen the spin button falls under the right thumb, with the lightning booster and the star feature panel as separate taps to the left of the reels.

Bet Range, Boosts and RTP

Bets cover €0.20 to €100, and free play uses the same board at either end. The ladder climbs in fixed steps rather than free typing, so a booster charge is always a clean multiple of whatever step you’re on. 96.05% is the return figure. The loading screen carries a HIGH badge, and this review rates it the same way, which makes this the rare Nolimit City release where the studio’s own thermometer and our tier land in the same place. For a war board with an empire to topple, the maths underneath is unusually calm, and that badge is the first clue. A Nolimit Booster changes what a spin costs, not what it pays, because wins are still worked out from the base bet while one is running.

Cluster Pays

Seven cluster sizes, three framed men, and four emblems. Only the 15-or-more column does anything dramatic, where the gold-framed character jumps to 50x from 5x one size below, and the four emblems stay inside single figures the whole way along. Below that top tier, the ladder is gentle, with barely half a step between the three characters at seven-symbol clusters, so the avalanche multiplier and the bonus modes carry most of what the game returns. The Wild substitutes for the paying symbols and does nothing else, with the Tsar Side Bonus the one thing it can never become.

Symbol 5 6 7 8-10 11-13 14 15+
Gold-framed character 0.6x 0.75x 1x 1.75x 3.5x 5x 50x
Green-framed character 0.5x 0.55x 0.7x 1x 2.5x 4x 20x
Blue-framed character 0.4x 0.5x 0.6x 0.75x 1.75x 3.25x 10x

Ultimate Slots Verdict

Nolimit City's cluster experiment holds together. The Destruction meter gives every avalanche a second job, choosing your own Revolution Spins feature is the best idea on the board, and the trade for that is a cap well below the studio's biggest. Calmer than its neighbours, and more coherent than most of them.

4.1/5 Excellent

What We Like

  • The Destruction meter turns every avalanche into progress towards a bonus
  • Choosing your own Revolution Spins feature is a rare piece of control for this studio
  • Big Symbols at 2x2 and 3x3 make a 6x6 cluster grid behave unlike any other
  • Four xBoost levels run from one guaranteed feature up to a guaranteed Destruction Spin

What Could Be Better

  • The cap falls well short of what the studio's ways games reach
  • The meter empties every spin, so scattered small wins get you nowhere

Detailed Review

How the Slot Compares

A 3×3 portrait is parked in the top left corner, a hammer and two claws sit beside it, and the multiplier panel on the right still reads x1. That’s a normal screen here. Big Symbols cover ground without paying anything by themselves, and the board can look crowded while the meter has barely moved. Six rows of six is a lot of space to fill with five-symbol clusters, and the art keeps the traffic readable, three framed faces in gold, green, and blue against four flat emblems.

Nolimit City built its name on ways counts that balloon, xWays stretching a reel and xNudge stacking multipliers onto a Wild. None of that applies on a cluster board, and Tsar Wars is the studio’s one cluster-pays slot in this range. What replaces the x-machinery is a counter, and the counter behaves like a siege. Twenty-five symbols force the first breach, 25 more take the bonus, and the multiplier is simply the tally of how long the board kept collapsing.

The cost of that design shows up in the cap, which is modest by this studio’s standards, and the High badge is honest about a game that pays through accumulation rather than one hit. The four xBoost steps are where impatience goes, and at 30x the bet for a guaranteed Destruction Spin, the boost is really buying the meter rather than the bonus itself. That is the honest trade on offer. You can wait for the avalanches to do their counting, or you can pay a per-spin charge to skip the counting and still need a second fill before the choice screen appears.

Cluster players will find the format cleaner than the usual stack of x-features, while anyone arriving from Supersized or another recent Nolimit release should expect a slower, more mechanical climb. A few rounds in the demo say more about how this game moves than any single figure does.

Frequently Asked Questions

Every symbol removed by a winning cluster counts towards it, and 25 collected symbols fill it. The meter empties after each spin, so those 25 have to arrive within one run of avalanches. Once it's full and the board has no wins left, a Destruction Spin follows with Wild Rush, Force Shift, and xBomb Wild all guaranteed.
Simulation puts it at 1 in 400,000,000 rounds, the far end of anything in this studio's range. Bombs Away! is the rule behind it, closing a round out at 19,775x the bet once the total gets there.
xBoost 1 costs 5x the bet and guarantees one feature. xBoost 2 costs 12x and guarantees two. xBoost 3 costs 30x and guarantees a Destruction Spin, and xBoost 4 costs 60x and guarantees at least one Trapped Wild at 2x2 or 3x3. The charge applies to every spin while a booster is running.
Tsar Wars swaps expanding ways counts and Wild multiplier ladders for one running counter and an avalanche multiplier that climbs a step at a time. The studio's xWays and xNudge titles hand you a bigger board mid-spin; this one hands you a target instead, and the bonus arrives only when you hit it twice.
