About Game

Nolimit City The Cage Demo

Five fighters wait inside The Cage, and four of them can be beaten. The free spins in this Nolimit City slot run as a title ladder, where each Uppercut symbol knocks one hit point off the current opponent and each knockout adds spins and switches on a new belt booster.

The fifth opponent is different. Wai “Little Dragon” Le has unlimited hit points, and no Uppercuts land once he steps into the ring, so the fifth fight has no knockout to aim for. The Cage demo lets you climb that ladder in free play as often as you like, starting from a seven-reel diamond that tumbles sideways.

Features and Free Play

Wild Knockout xBomb

A clenched fist marked WILD is the Wild Knockout xBomb. It counts as any symbol on the board apart from the belt-shaped Title Fight Scatter. Before the next collapse, every Knockout on the reels explodes and clears the symbols in a cross around it, sparing Scatters and any other fists. Each blast also moves the torn cardboard multiplier sign up one step for the next collapse.

The fists turn a tumble into a chain. A blast clears space, the survivors slide, new symbols fall in, and whatever pays next pays at the higher multiplier. Both xBomb and the staggered column layout were already on the reels of Dead Canary back in December 2022.

Title Fight Freespins

The Cage splash screen showing the Meet the Champions card and the Title Fight belt
A fighter’s clenched fists frame the Title Fight belt on the Meet the Champions card, the Scatter that opens the five-fight ladder.

Three Title Fight belts anywhere on the diamond open the bonus. The board changes shape for it, to nine reels set 3-3-3-2-2-2-3-3-3, and wins count from both ends of the reel area instead of one. The four middle positions hold the title belt boosters, all of them dark when the first fight begins.

Uppercuts and Hit Points

Each fight is a hit-point bar. The Uppercut symbol lands on the reels during the bonus, and every one takes 1 point off the man across the ring. Jim “Big Fatty” Johnson and Kenny “Ironjaw” Shambles have 3 points each, Artie “One Glove Man” Jefferson has 4, and Grayson “The Constrictor” Royce has 5 (the studio’s own page calls him Boa Constrictor). Knocking out any of the first three adds 3 spins, and The Constrictor brings 5.

How long a Title Fight round lasts depends on the knockouts. A run of Uppercuts early keeps the round going and moves it up the ladder; a slow first fight can finish the bonus before Ironjaw ever appears.

Four Title Belts

Beating a fighter wins his belt, and the belt positions switch on in order, one per knockout. Belt #1 is a symbol multiplier. From the second fight on, an A, K, Q, J, or 10 that lands there doubles every copy of that rank on the reels.

Belts #2 and #3 are symbol transforms. A card rank landing on either becomes the symbol of the fighter you’re facing, and the later opponents tend to pay more than the early ones. Belt #4 arrives with the championship fight after The Constrictor goes down, bringing the three earlier boosters plus a sticky Wild on its position. A belt fires once per spin, and one that goes unused on the landing spin can fire in a later tumble instead.

Fight 5 and the GOAT

Little Dragon has no number beside his name. His hit points are unlimited, and Uppercuts stop landing when he enters, so the ladder has no fifth knockout. What Fight 5 does have is every belt switched on, with the transforms now turning card ranks into Little Dragon himself, the highest-paying symbol in the game.

The only win over him is the Greatest of All Time. If a round’s total climbs past 25,000x, the game stops the round and pays that amount, and the player becomes the GOAT. Without it, the fight lasts until the spins are gone.

How to Play

A Tumble That Pulls Left

The Cage diamond reel grid mid-round with an x3 multiplier sign and a Title Fight Scatter
The torn cardboard sign has climbed to x3 after Knockout blasts, while one Title Fight belt waits among the green-gloved boxers and 0.5x has paid so far.

The reels form a diamond of seven columns, three and four symbols tall in turn (3-4-3-4-3-4-3), for 5,184 ways. Matching symbols pay when they connect column by column from the diamond’s left edge, and each extra copy in a column adds routes to the count.

After a win, the winners explode. Everything that survives drops down, then slides left to close the gaps, and only then do new symbols fall in from above. Symbols from the right-hand columns shift toward the start of the ways count, so a tumble can create a win that wasn’t on the board a moment earlier.

Roundhouse Kick

A dead board isn’t always the end of a main-game spin. When the reels settle without any winning combination, the game checks the diagonals. Three, four, five, or six matching paying symbols on one diagonal trigger the Roundhouse Kick, which removes them and leaves 1, 2, 3, or 4 Wild Knockout xBombs in the middle positions of that line.

Every other symbol then explodes, apart from Knockouts and Scatters, and fresh symbols drop in around the new fists. Nolimit City has turned diagonal lines into Wilds before, and in this game the kick feeds the multiplier too, because those Knockouts blow up before the next collapse and move the sign. Since the kick only fires on a board that has paid nothing, it never interrupts a tumble chain; it starts one.

Bets and RTP

Bets begin at €0.20 and go as high as €100. An RTP of 96.05% applies to the standard version, and two other versions of the maths return 94.09% and 92.09%.

The Cage Paytable

The table covers three of a kind up to nine, and nine of a kind needs the nine reels of the Title Fight area. Little Dragon pays most, 4x for nine and 1.25x for three, and the card ranks stay close to the fighters in every column. The five fighters fill the top rows, from Little Dragon down to Big Fatty, and A and K pay the same 3x for nine.

Symbol 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Little Dragon 1.25x 1.5x 2x 2.5x 3x 3.5x 4x
The Constrictor 1x 1.25x 1.75x 2.25x 2.75x 3.25x 3.75x
One Glove Man 0.75x 1x 1.5x 2x 2.5x 3x 3.5x
Ironjaw 0.6x 0.75x 1.25x 1.75x 2.25x 2.75x 3.25x
Big Fatty 0.5x 0.75x 1x 1.75x 2.25x 2.75x 3.25x
A 0.35x 0.7x 1x 1.4x 2x 2.5x 3x
K 0.3x 0.6x 0.9x 1.2x 2x 2.5x 3x
Q 0.25x 0.5x 0.75x 1x 1.5x 2x 2.5x
J 0.25x 0.5x 0.75x 1x 1.5x 2x 2.5x
10 0.25x 0.5x 0.75x 1x 1.5x 2x 2.5x

Neither the Knockout fist nor the Title Fight belt has a value in the table.

Ultimate Slots Verdict

Knocking a fighter down pays twice in Title Fight Freespins, once in spins and once in a belt booster, so the bonus has a shape you can follow from the first Uppercut. Little Dragon spoils the ending. Nothing but the cap beats him, and the paytable's highest line is 4x for nine.

Hits What we like

  • Each knockout in Title Fight Freespins adds spins and switches on a new belt booster
  • Roundhouse Kick turns a board with no win into 1 to 4 Wild Knockout xBombs
  • Knockout explosions raise the multiplier for the next collapse, so tumbles can build
  • Survivors slide down and then left, which keeps the 5,184-way diamond moving
  • Belts #2 and #3 turn card ranks into the current opponent's symbol

Misses What could be better

  • Little Dragon has unlimited hit points and no Uppercuts land in Fight 5, so the ladder has no final knockout
  • Nine Little Dragons pay 4x, the highest line on the paytable

Detailed Review

No Knockout for Little Dragon

The hit rate is 31.98%, so almost a third of spins return a win. The board explains it. Tumbles keep a paying spin going, Knockout blasts clear room for more, and Roundhouse Kick rescues boards that paid nothing. Of the three, the sideways tumble is what a new player notices soonest, because the survivors visibly shift across the diamond before anything new falls.

Those wins are mostly small. The paytable is flat from top to bottom, with an A for nine paying 3x against Little Dragon’s 4x, and three of a Q, J, or 10 paying 0.25x. The main game’s value comes from the multiplier sign climbing through a chain of Knockout explosions, and from what the bonus might do, so dry spells between Title Fight belts are part of the deal.

Roundhouse Kick is the main-game feature with the most character. A diagonal of dead symbols becomes up to four fists, the board clears around them, and those fists then blow up in turn and move the multiplier. It gives a losing board a second chance without asking anything of the player, and it fits the fight theme better than a random Wild drop would.

The review’s main credit goes to the ladder, because it tells you what to chase. Each Uppercut takes a point off the bar, and the game makes you count them. A fighter left on 1 hit point when the spins end is a near-miss the ladder creates on purpose, and it keeps your eyes on the bar rather than the balance. Every knockout brings spins and a belt at once, so a good fight improves the next one.

Then comes Fight 5, and it should be said plainly. Little Dragon can’t be knocked out. No Uppercuts land, his hit points never run down, and the fight goes on until the spins do. Reaching him is the high point of a Title Fight round, yet the story has no ending below the cap. A top symbol that needs nine copies to pay 4x adds to the feeling that the boosters have to do the heavy work.

The Artwork

The art makes up a lot of ground. Seen from above, the ring is a chain-link cage with the crowd pressed against the wire, tyres and oil drums in the corners, and Little Dragon’s gold tattoos give the martial arts side of the June 2023 release a face. The Title Fight belt, gold with blue lettering, gets the same care as the fighters. They look like characters with records, and the ladder gives each of them a job. For free play, The Cage is a slot to learn one fight at a time, with Little Dragon at the end of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fight 5 gives him unlimited hit points, and Uppercut symbols stop landing once he enters. The four fights before him add 3, 3, 3, and 5 spins as each opponent falls, but against Little Dragon the only finish besides running out of spins is the Greatest of All Time cap.
Any diagonal holding three to six matching paying symbols, on a main-game spin that produced no winning combination. The kick removes the symbols and places 1 to 4 Wild Knockout xBombs at the centre of that diagonal, depending on its length, while everything else except Knockouts and Scatters explodes.
Belt #1 doubles every copy of a card rank that lands on it. Belts #2 and #3 turn a card rank landing there into the current opponent's symbol. Belt #4, won by beating The Constrictor, adds a sticky Wild on top of the other three.
Loosely. Dead Canary came out on 20 December 2022 on a staggered 3-4-3-4-3-4 grid, and this game uses a 3-4-3-4-3-4-3 version of that layout. Both make Wilds from diagonal lines of symbols and both have xBomb, while Dead Canary's cap is 65,000x against 25,000x here.
In The Cage, the survivors of each win fall down first and then move left to fill the gaps before new symbols drop. That pushes symbols toward the start of the ways count, so one tumble can connect symbols that were apart before it.
