About Game

The Ultra Dark Sequel

Fifteen Paylines Traded for Another 5,000x

Ten paylines. Twenty thousand times your stake. Sleeping Dragon Ultra Dark takes the 5×3 grid of the 2025 original, strips 25 paylines back to 10, and lifts the cap from 15,000x to 20,000x. That’s the trade this dark-fantasy slot is making, and the rest of the design follows from it. Fewer ways to connect, a much bigger number waiting at the far end.

The art earns the Ultra Dark tag. A gold-and-black dragon sleeps on its coin pile in a ruined temple lit green through broken stained glass, with knights, princesses, crowns, shields and swords sitting above the royals.

Sleeping Dragon Demo Features

Six Money Symbols

Land six or more MONEY symbols anywhere and the normal symbols fade off the screen. What’s left locks in place, three respins start counting down, and every fresh MONEY symbol that sticks resets the counter back to three. The round closes when the respins run out or when every position is occupied. The game then adds all the values shown and pays them in one go.

Filling the screen adds a MEGA prize of 7,000x total bet on top of that sum. Away from the free spins, fifteen MONEY symbols on a single spin do the same thing, paying the on-screen total plus the MEGA. It uses the same collect-and-lock format as Wolf Gold 4-Pack, tuned here with a much longer list of values.

The Money Egg and Its Eight Positions

A MONEY EGG can land on any reel, and it holds off on telling you what it’s worth. Once the respin round finishes, the egg opens into its own mini game. Money symbols and blanks spin across eight positions with three respins that reset on every hit, and the egg pays whatever those eight positions add up to when the spinning stops. Fill all eight and a DRAGON prize of 400x total bet goes on top.

Giant Reels Take Over the Free Spins

Three scatters award eight free spins, four award twelve, and five award fifty. Inside the round, reels two, three and four stop behaving as separate reels and merge into a single giant 3×3 symbol.

A giant MONEY symbol pays once, drawn from a list running 5x to 100x, with the MINI, MINOR, and MAJOR amounts also in the pool, and it also hands you the respin round. A giant SCATTER adds three more spins. If a free spin produces nothing at all, the giant symbol can be swapped at random for a MONEY symbol or a WILD, which stops empty spins from feeling entirely wasted.

Four Bonus Buy Options

The BUY BONUS panel reads 4 OPTIONS, and all four sit at 96.50%, the same figure as normal play. Fifty times your total bet triggers the respin round. A hundred times buys either the free spins, which arrive with three scatters guaranteed, or the Super Respin Bonus, which adds 100x, 150x, 200x, 300x, 500x and 1,000x to the money values in play. The Ultra Respin Bonus costs 1,000x and stretches that list to 10,000x.

How to Play

The MONEY symbols ignore the ten paylines completely. Six of them anywhere on the 5×3 grid opens the respin round, and whether they line up left to right makes no difference at all. Everything else on the reels does follow the lines, paying from the leftmost reel across adjacent reels, with only the highest win counted on each line.

Stakes start at $0.10. The spin-speed button cycles normal, quick and turbo, holding SPACE gives you turbo directly, and the information screen runs to seven pages. Autoplay carries a SKIP SCREENS option that suppresses the feature intro animations, which is the setting to find if you plan to sit through a long stretch of free play.

The five-bolt volatility badge is honest about what that stretch looks like. Hit frequency measures 33.78%, roughly one paid spin in every three, so the reels rarely go completely quiet. The size of those hits is another matter, and the gap between an ordinary line win and anything the respin round produces is enormous.

Knight Wild Payouts

The knight substitutes for everything except SCATTER and MONEY symbols, and pays on its own account. These figures come off a $2.00 total bet.

Knight wilds on a line Pays at $2.00 bet
5 $20.00
4 $7.00
3 $3.00
2 $0.40

Fixed Prizes and Money Values

Five named prizes sit behind the money symbols, quoted as multiples of the total bet.

Prize Value At $2.00 bet
MINI 20x total bet $40.00
MINOR 100x total bet $200.00
MAJOR 200x total bet $400.00
DRAGON 400x total bet $800.00
MEGA 7,000x total bet $14,000.00

Standard MONEY symbols draw from 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 30x, 40x, 50x, 60x, 75x, 80x, 100x and 200x total bet, with the MINI, MINOR and MAJOR amounts sitting inside that same pool.

Free Spins 100x total bet 96.50%
Super Respin Bonus 100x total bet 96.50%

One limit applies across all of them. Once a round touches 20,000x total bet it ends, pays, and surrenders whatever spins remained.

Ultimate Slots Verdict

3.8 out of 5, and the score rests on the trade holding up. Cutting to ten lines thins ordinary spins out, but the MONEY symbols never needed paylines to work, and a 33.78% hit rate keeps something landing roughly every third spin regardless.

3.8/5 Very Good

What We Like

  • Six MONEY symbols anywhere trigger the respins, so the reduced line count never touches the feature the game is built on
  • A 33.78% hit rate is high for a title carrying all five volatility bolts
  • All four purchase options sit at 96.50%, matching normal play, which is unusual when a game ships this many of them
  • The MONEY EGG resolves through its own eight-position round, so its value is still moving after the main respins end
  • Merging reels two to four into a single giant symbol changes the shape of the free spins instead of bolting on a multiplier

What Could Be Better

  • Ten paylines on a 5x3 grid leave ordinary spins with very little to build from
  • The 20,000x cap sits far above what a filled screen and a MEGA realistically combine to
  • The Ultra Respin Bonus costs ten times the free spins purchase for the same stated return
  • Eight free spins from three scatters is a thin round on a game this volatile

Detailed Review

Ordinary spins here are quiet in a particular way. Line wins land often, but ten lines across three rows means most of them are small, and the reels spend a lot of time producing a knight pair worth a fraction of the stake. What keeps your eyes on the screen is the money symbol count. Two or three of them showing does nothing on its own, and the game knows it, letting them glint and hang there while the counter sits four short of the door. Free play is where that pull is easiest to study across a long stretch.

Ultra Volatility

The volatility badge shows all five bolts, and the rules text agrees, which isn’t always the case on Pragmatic releases of this generation. Long stretches without a feature are part of the deal, and the 20,000x figure describes what the maths permits while the format will very rarely take you there. Ten lines make the dry patches feel longer than 25 would have.

Then the scatter ladder jumps from eight spins to twelve to fifty, and the whole game rearranges itself around that last step.

The Hefty Max Win

Fifty free spins with reels two to four fused into a single giant symbol is a different game from the eight-spin version, and it’s where 20,000x stops being decorative. Five scatters on a 5×3 grid means one landing on every reel, so most rounds will be the short ones. Pragmatic has been pushing dragons in both directions lately, towards enormous payline counts in the 10,000-ways build and towards this stripped-back ten-line frame, and the Ultra Dark route argues its case better. If the studio keeps cutting lines to fund the top prize, the next entry in this series will be the one this review measures against.

Frequently Asked Questions

Because five scatters means one landing on every reel of a 5x3 grid, which the ladder prices as a rarity. The steps run eight spins for three scatters, twelve for four and fifty for five. Once the round is running the ladder stops applying, and extra spins come from giant scatters on the merged middle reels, three at a time.
Six, anywhere on screen. The other symbols fade out, the money values lock in place and three respins start counting down. Every new money symbol that lands resets the count back to three, and the round ends when the respins run out or every position on the grid is taken.
It opens into a mini game with eight positions of its own. Money symbols and blanks spin across those positions with three respins that reset on each hit, and the egg is worth the sum of everything showing when the spinning stops. Filling all eight positions adds a DRAGON amount of 400x the total bet.
No. Casinos choose between 96.50%, 95.50% and 94.50% builds, and the seven-page information screen states the theoretical return for whichever one you're on. That panel is the figure that counts.
No. All four purchase options in Sleeping Dragon Ultra Dark are stated at 96.50%, matching normal play. What 1,000x the total bet buys is a wider pool of money values, adding 100x, 150x, 200x, 300x, 500x, 1,000x, 1,500x, 2,000x, 3,000x, 5,000x and 10,000x to the amounts the respins can draw from.
Through the respin round stacking money values against the fixed prizes. A completely filled grid pays a MEGA of 7,000x the total bet on top of every value already showing, and during free spins a single giant money symbol can carry as much as 200x by itself. Any round that reaches 20,000x stops immediately, with the win paid and remaining free spins forfeited.
