The art earns the Ultra Dark tag. A gold-and-black dragon sleeps on its coin pile in a ruined temple lit green through broken stained glass, with knights, princesses, crowns, shields and swords sitting above the royals.
Land six or more MONEY symbols anywhere and the normal symbols fade off the screen. What’s left locks in place, three respins start counting down, and every fresh MONEY symbol that sticks resets the counter back to three. Ordinary spins here are quiet in a particular way. Line wins land often, but ten lines across three rows means most of them are small, and the reels spend a lot of time producing a knight pair worth a fraction of the stake. What keeps your eyes on the screen is the money symbol count. Two or three of them showing does nothing on its own, and the game knows it, letting them glint and hang there while the counter sits four short of the door. Free play is where that pull is easiest to study across a long stretch.
The volatility badge shows all five bolts, and the rules text agrees, which isn’t always the case on Pragmatic releases of this generation. Long stretches without a feature are part of the deal, and the 20,000x figure describes what the maths permits while the format will very rarely take you there. Ten lines make the dry patches feel longer than 25 would have.
Then the scatter ladder jumps from eight spins to twelve to fifty, and the whole game rearranges itself around that last step.
Fifty free spins with reels two to four fused into a single giant symbol is a different game from the eight-spin version, and it’s where 20,000x stops being decorative. Five scatters on a 5×3 grid means one landing on every reel, so most rounds will be the short ones. Pragmatic has been pushing dragons in both directions lately, towards enormous payline counts in the 10,000-ways build and towards this stripped-back ten-line frame, and the Ultra Dark route argues its case better. If the studio keeps cutting lines to fund the top prize, the next entry in this series will be the one this review measures against.
