What’s a bell worth when it stands for everything?

Jackpot Bells answers that in its own logo. JACKPOT is spelt out in red block letters with gold edges, a gold bell takes the place of the A, and “Bells” is written underneath to the right in gold script. That same bell is the Wild in this slot. It can replace any symbol, it expands on its reel, and it is the key to the progressive jackpot. Everything around it is classic fruit machine stock on white reels, with red 7s, watermelons, grapes, plums, oranges, lemons, and cherries paying across five lines. The 7s are glossy red with dark outlines, the watermelon is a half-moon slice with black seeds, and the grapes come as a dark blue-purple bunch with leaves on top.

The name points you at the jackpot. Give the free demo a few minutes, though, and you’ll see that the bell’s other job, a Wild that can take over a whole reel, is the more interesting half of the game. A bell that fills its reel is part of all five lines at once. The jackpot is still the headline. The rest of the time, you’re playing a five-line fruit slot with a very good Wild.

Jackpot Bells Bonus Features

Jackpot Bells reels with gold bells filling reels 1 and 4 and line 5 drawn through a bell and a cherry
Bells fill reels 1 and 4, and on line 5 a bell beside a cherry pays as two cherries, 0.4x

The Expanding Bell

The bell substitutes for all symbols and expands on the reel it lands on, so one bell can turn a reel into three stacked Wilds. Two bells can do it on the same spin, turning reels 1 and 4 Wild from top to bottom. A bell on reel 1 with a cherry beside it on reel 2 is already a pay, and a bell among red 7s counts as a 7, the top symbol in the table. The bell is drawn shiny and gold, tilted to the right with a gold clapper ball and a loop on top, on a red tile with darker red rays, so you can pick it out against the white reels at a glance.

Don’t expect a full reel every time one shows up. Two bells can also land on single positions at the top of reels 3 and 4 and pay nothing. When it does fill its reel, every line through that reel has a Wild on it.

Five Bells

Five bells on a winning payline win the progressive jackpot, which the game calls the Bells Jackpot. The paytable gives the bell a single entry, five of a kind for the jackpot, with no fixed amount beside it. It is a real-money prize, and the jackpot panel shows Not Available when you play for fun. You won’t find a three-bell or four-bell pay listed, so until all five line up, the bell earns its keep as a Wild.

Two Cherries

Cherries pay from two, 0.4x for a pair. A bell on reel 1 beside a cherry on reel 2 counts as two cherries on any line through them. It’s a small pay, and it’s the clearest picture of the Wild at work.

How to Play

Five Lines

Jackpot Bells draws its five lines as the three rows plus two zigzags, a V that starts in the top left and an upside-down V that starts in the bottom left. Red numbered markers flank the reels on the left and right, showing where each line enters: 2 and 4 at the top, 1 in the middle, and 5 and 3 at the bottom. Wins are read from reel 1 outwards, and when a line could pay more than one way, you get its highest win and nothing else. Most symbols need three in a row from reel 1, and cherries pay from two.

That’s the whole layout, so a round comes down to the spin, the bells, and whatever lines the bells complete.

Your Line Bet

You pick a line bet with the minus and plus buttons, and the total bet next to it is that line bet across all five lines. Each line win is the pay times the line bet, so in the table below, each pay is already converted to x your total bet.

Demo Paytable

Five red 7s pay 300x, and the next best five-symbol pay, watermelons, drops to 50x. Grapes, plums, oranges, and lemons fill the middle of the table at 20x down to 8x for five, and cherries also pay for a pair.

Symbol 5 4 3 2
Red 7 300x 40x 10x –
Watermelon 50x 20x 5x –
Grapes 20x 9x 4x –
Plum 12x 5x 2x –
Orange 10x 4x 2x –
Lemon 8x 2x 1x –
Cherries 6x 2x 1x 0.4x

Ultimate Slots Verdict

Next to Gold Trio Jackpot, Jackpot Bells keeps things small, with five lines, a bell Wild that substitutes for all symbols and expands on its reel, and a progressive jackpot for five bells on a winning payline. The jackpot sells the name, but the expanding bell is what makes the game worth your time, and five red 7s at 300x give the table a proper top. It's a tidy five-liner carried by its Wild.

Detailed Review

Slot Review

Gold Trio Jackpot is the Playtech fruit slot that does a lot more, with a joker paying 6x for five and a Grand that’s progressive through its Diamond Prize Feature. Jackpot Bells strips all of that back to one Wild, one jackpot rule, and five lines, and the stripped-back version is easier to enjoy for what it is. Joker Hot Reels uses the same fruit line pays and adds a 300x Joker.

The bell is the best idea here. A Wild that substitutes for all symbols and can fill its reel is easy to follow on five lines, because each bell that expands is on every line at once, and you can trace every win it makes. It also explains the name better than the jackpot does, since the bell in the logo is the same bell doing the work on the reels. It looks the part as well, a gold bell on a red rayed tile against white reels in a gold frame, with deep red behind and numbered line markers down both sides.

Where it falls short is the prize the name promises. 15 Stars Ablaze has four fixed jackpots that scale with the total bet, a different way of doing it from the same studio, Playtech. Here, the progressive jackpot needs five bells on a winning payline, and the bell has no line pay of its own. The fixed pays are fine at the top and modest below it.

So, here’s a challenge. Use your free play to put the jackpot out of your head for 20 spins, and judge the game only on what the bells do to the fruit. If that holds your attention, this is your five-liner. If you catch yourself waiting for something else to happen, that’s your answer too.
