Dead Men Walking by Nolimit City
A ways-first studio put this one on 17 fixed lines, a plain 5×3 under three burning braziers. The Dead Men Walking demo hands the paying work to its xNudge Wilds, and they walk, one reel to the left per respin, adding +1 to the multiplier at each step. The bonus swaps free spins for a 5×5 board of coins.
Features in the Demo
Three Fire Pits
Scrolls in three colours land on the reels, and each has a chance to light its brazier and fire. Orange is xWays, which reveals 2, 3, or 4 of the same paying symbol, adding win ways. Red is an Infectious Wild, which turns a random symbol and all its copies Wild. When more than one lands, each picks a different symbol. Grey is xSplit. It splits all symbols on its row, doubles their size, and becomes a Wild, and it can split anything except itself and the Bonus.
The March to Reel 1
The xNudge Wild is a stacked prisoner in a hood and chains. It always nudges until the whole stack is in view, and each nudge adds +1 to its multiplier. Once fully showing, it starts Dead Man’s March, moving one reel left on a respin for +1 more, and the march runs until the last xNudge Wild on the board reaches reel 1. If one gets there while others are still walking, it hands its multiplier to the nearest of them.
Of the 96.20% RTP, 60.56% comes from ordinary spins and 35.64% from Dead Man’s Gold. The main game pays the larger share, on the 5×3 where the Wilds walk.
Booster 1
Booster 1 raises the bet to 1.5x its size and makes Dead Man’s Gold more likely. With it on, a Bonus symbol landing on the reels can bring 1 to 4 extra Bonus symbols onto the Bonus board. The extra half buys trigger chances, not bigger line wins, and the RTP drops to 96.13%.
Dead Man’s Gold

A red money bag is the Bonus symbol, and a board of five slots beside reel 1 counts them. Land 3, 4, or 5, and Dead Man’s Gold starts with 3, 4, or 5 spins on a 5×5 grid where only coins land. A spin that brings a coin leaves the count untouched. When 3 or more coins line up in a row or column, the game collects and pays them.
Coins on a 5×5
Four feature coins can join them, each idle until it is collected in one of those lines. The Collector adds up all active coins. The Cloner copies the highest value onto all active coins. The Multiplier doubles all visible coins, and King’s Grace resets the spin count to where the round began.
After a round, the game can offer an Extra Spin, the xTra feature, which keeps the symbols’ multipliers and is priced from them. It appears only when that price is no higher than the last win, and by the game’s own rules, saying no gives the higher RTP.
How to Play
17 Fixed Lines

Three fire pits burn over a 5×3 board that pays on 17 fixed lines, an unusual choice for Nolimit City, whose games mostly count ways. A line pays when matching symbols follow it across adjacent reels, beginning on the first reel, and each line pays only its best combination. Wins on different lines add together.
The pits are labelled xWays, Infectious Wild, and xSplit, one for each colour of scroll, and a pit lights when its feature fires. Only the orange xWays scroll adds ways, and only on the spins where it goes off. The rest of the time, the 17 lines are the whole map.
Slot RTP
The bet starts at €0.10 and stops at €200. With the booster off, the game returns 96.20%. Volatility is labelled HIGH, a milder mark than the Extreme most Nolimit City games wear, and High is the rating in the stats box too.
The walking Wild has a relative. Nolimit City ran the xNudge and xSplit pairing in Tombstone R.I.P., released in November 2022 with a 300,000x cap. Dead Men Walking brings both back in September 2025 with a 25,313x cap. On this board, the xSplit arrives on a fire-pit scroll, and the xNudge Wilds walk once they have nudged.
Payouts
The table is short because the game has only 8 symbols, the Bonus included. The pillory pays most, 4x for five, 1x for four, and 0.5x for three, and the Wild, which can become any symbol other than the money-bag Bonus, pays that same row. The leather mask and the axe form a middle pair at 2.5x and 2x for five. The claws, the ball and chain, and the spider tool are one flat band, each paying 1.2x, 0.6x, and 0.2x, with nothing between them. The money bag has no row of its own, since its job is filling the Bonus board.
| Symbol | 3 | 4 | 5 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pillory | 0.5x | 1x | 4x |
| Wild | 0.5x | 1x | 4x |
| Leather mask | 0.4x | 0.8x | 2.5x |
| Axe | 0.3x | 0.6x | 2x |
| Claws | 0.2x | 0.6x | 1.2x |
| Ball and chain | 0.2x | 0.6x | 1.2x |
| Spider tool | 0.2x | 0.6x | 1.2x |
Ultimate Slots Verdict
xNudge Wilds that walk left, gaining +1 at each step and handing their value on at reel 1, give a 17-line 5x3 far more to follow than its 4x top pay suggests. Dead Man's Gold starts short and the scrolls fire only some of the time, yet the march alone makes this 2025 slot a strong pick for a long, patient free-play run.
✓ What We Like
- Walking xNudge Wilds add +1 at each nudge and each step left
- A Wild reaching reel 1 hands its multiplier to the nearest xNudge Wild still walking
- Three fire pits can bring xWays, Infectious Wilds, or xSplit to a plain 5x3

- Booster 1 raises the bet to only 1.5x for a likelier Dead Man's Gold
✗ What Could Be Better
- A 4x top pay on 17 lines leaves little for the Wild multipliers to work on
- Scrolls only have a chance to fire, and Dead Man's Gold starts with 3 to 5 spins
Detailed Review
Wilds That Walk Left
Everything good here starts when a stacked prisoner nudges into view. Each respin after that walks him one reel closer to the left edge and adds +1 to his multiplier, so any line he completes on the way pays against a bigger number than the one before. At launch, Nolimit City’s Per Lindheimer called xNudge Wilds that walk “sick”, and on this board they are what you come back for. A Wild that reaches reel 1 while another is still walking passes its value on, so a crowded march doesn’t waste anything.
A fair review has to weigh the paytable, though. A 4x top pay on 17 lines gives the Wild small numbers to multiply, and three symbols share the same 1.2x for five. Nothing on the table reaches double figures, so the multiplier has to do the lifting. The scrolls fire only some of the time when they land. Dead Man’s Gold opens with 3 to 5 spins, and the four feature coins do nothing until they’re collected.
The march also plays on patience. A Wild on the right-hand reels means several more respins, each with a higher number showing. That climbing figure keeps you in your seat before a line has paid anything much.
The look fits the idea. The reels stand in a timbered square drawn in browns and sepia, with a pillory, an axe, iron claws, and a ball and chain on the symbols, and the medieval execution-yard setting shows even in the hooded prisoner shuffling across the grid.
Refuse the Extra Spin when it appears after a round, however good the kept multipliers look. Across a long stretch of free play, the walking Wild outweighs the thin table by a clear margin, and the hooded prisoner keeps the board interesting.
