About Game

Wild West Duels Basics

Wild West Duels carries three bonus rounds, and it prices them separately at 100x your bet for the Beer Game, 200x for the Duel, and 400x for Lost Relics. That ladder is the design. Pragmatic Play built a square 5×5 board, ran 15 fixed lines across it, and gave each of the three free spins rounds its own scatter. Most slots with a buy button ask whether you want the bonus. This western slot asks which one you want, and the answer changes what the round does far more than what it costs.

Gameplay Options

Expanding Wild Multipliers

The money bag wild appears on every reel, and in standard play it can expand to fill its column and take a random multiplier between 2x and 100x. The game only expands it when the expansion would create a win, so a full column of wilds never sits there paying nothing. That multiplier applies to every combination the wild joins, and where two expanded wilds meet in the same win, the game sums the multipliers rather than multiplying them. The wild also pays on its own at the table’s top rate for five.

Three Separate Scatters

Each round has its own scatter, so the board carries three of them at once. Beer mugs, crossed pistols, and crossed pickaxes each need three or more of their own kind to fire, and they never combine. A screen holding two pistols and two pickaxes pays nothing and triggers nothing, which is a common sight on a board with three separate triggers to feed. Nothing else on the reels behaves oddly. Five character premiums and five low symbols pay left to right from reel 1, and the scatters carry no cash value of their own.

The Beer Game

Three Beer Game scatters award 10 free spins with a dedicated wild symbol. Every wild that lands takes a 2x or 3x multiplier and stays on screen until the spins run out, so the board fills up as the round runs down. Where two of those wilds join the same win, the game adds their multipliers together. The expanding wild is switched off here, making this the steadiest of the three rounds and the one that most resembles a conventional free spins feature.

The Duel

This demo is unmistakably Wild West and unquestionably cartoonish!

The Duel runs 10 free spins, keeps the expanding wild the other two rounds disable, and guarantees at least one wild somewhere on the board every spin. Ten spins, 10 guaranteed wilds, and any of them can expand with a multiplier attached. It’s the round the duel animation exists for, and the one that reaches the highest without a pick screen standing in front of it.

Lost Relics

Lost Relics is 3 free spins, and it puts a pick round before them. A grid of 25 shovels appears; you choose 9 of them, and each holds either a number of guaranteed wilds (1, 2, 3, or 5) or a multiplier (1x, 2x, 3x, or 5x). Whatever you collect applies to all three spins. Three spins for the most expensive plaque price reads steep until a strong pick loads the board with 5 wilds a spin at a 5x multiplier. None of the three rounds retriggers, so what you trigger is what you get.

The Wild West Shelf

Pragmatic Play has worked this setting for years, and Wild West Gold is still the reference point, with one free spins round and sticky multiplier wilds on a wider, shorter board. Wild West Duels replaces that single round with three priced tiers on a taller grid, which makes it the busier of the two and the one with something to decide before the reels move.

How to Play

Lines on a Square Board

Every payline starts at reel 1 and runs right, which on a five-row board leaves a good deal of screen doing nothing on most spins. Wins land on the marked lines only, so matching symbols scattered across the rows can still pay nothing at all. That’s the trade for the extra row. The three scatters ignore the lines and count wherever they land, and that is where the square board earns its extra row.

Buy Plaque and Bet Menu

The buy plaque is fixed to the left of the reels and stays there whether you use it or not. Open it, and the three rounds come up with their prices tied to the current total bet, so the cost moves with the stake instead of standing as a fixed cash figure. The bet menu shows that total in both coins and cash, and the spin speed button cycles normal, quick, and turbo.

RTP & Basic Info

The return does not move between standard play and any of the three buys, and operators can run lower settings than the one the demo uses.

Ultimate Slots Verdict

Three bonus rounds at three prices, one return that never moves between them, and a board built so that the choice between the rounds is the real decision. The Duel is the pick of the three, the Beer Game the friendliest, and Lost Relics trades spin count for a pick screen. High volatility and no retriggers make the quiet stretches real, and a demo session covers all three at no cost.

4/5 Excellent

✓ What We Like

  • Three separately priced bonus rounds that play differently, not three sizes of one round
  • The return is identical across standard play and all three buys
  • A guaranteed wild on every Duel free spin, with expansion still available
  • Lost Relics resolves its pick screen before the spins start, so the round's value is known up front

✗ What Could Be Better

  • No retriggers in any of the three rounds, so a cold feature stays short
  • Lost Relics gives only 3 spins for the most expensive price on the plaque
  • Three separate scatters to feed means long gaps between triggers in standard play

Detailed Review

How it Compares

The rating in this review rests on the middle rung of the ladder. The Duel runs 10 spins, guarantees a wild on every one of them, and keeps the expanding multiplier that the other two rounds shut off. Nothing else in the game does as much for its price.

The flat return is what makes that comparison possible. All three buys pay back at the same rate as standard play, so the prices buy different shapes of variance rather than different value. That is unusual, and it is honest. It also gives the counterargument its teeth, because if the maths never moves, the choice is about the shape of round you want rather than about which one is better.

The art does its job without straining for it. Saloon-town cartoon characters, a dusty palette, and a duel sequence that is the only real set piece on the board. Five rows looks busier than the shorter westerns Pragmatic Play has run before, though the extra row mostly gives the scatters somewhere to land.

Set beside Wild West Angel Rodeo, the louder recent take on the same setting, this is the slower build. Volatility runs high, which in this game means long stretches where three scatters of one kind refuse to arrive together, and there is nothing in standard play that shortens them.

Spend a few demo rounds with all three, and the order sorts itself out. The Beer Game is the warm-up, Lost Relics is the pick screen gamble, and the Duel is where the design actually lands.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. The Beer Game, the Duel, and Lost Relics all run at 96.00%, the same figure as standard play. The price changes how the round behaves and how long it lasts, not what it returns over time.
None of them can. The Beer Game and the Duel run their 10 spins and end, Lost Relics runs its 3 and ends, and landing more scatters during a round does nothing.
That round swaps it for a different wild. The Beer Game uses its own wild symbol that takes a 2x or 3x multiplier and sticks for every spin that follows, and stacking those multipliers is the round's job. Expansion belongs to standard play and the Duel.
Guaranteed wilds and a multiplier. You pick 9 shovels from a grid of 25, each holding either 1, 2, 3, or 5 wilds or a 1x, 2x, 3x, or 5x multiplier, and the totals you collect apply to every one of the three free spins that follow.
