Demo Overview

Two of Light & Wonder’s most recognisable slot formats share a grid for the first time in Ultimate Fire Link: Cash Falls By The Bay. The Cash Falls hold mechanic and the Fire Link bonus have each built sizeable followings separately. This is the version where a Fireball symbol can set off one feature, escalate into the other, and then lock the reel for the rest of the round. Set against San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, it’s a game built for players who already know what they’re looking for.

How It Works

Reel Layout and Ways to Win

The 4-4-6-6-8 grid is specific to the Cash Falls series. The first two reels display 4 symbols each, reels 3 and 4 show 6, and the fifth reel runs 8 symbols tall. That asymmetric layout produces up to 4,608 ways to win, though the active count shifts whenever Fireball symbols occupy positions, as symbols that land behind a Fireball are not evaluated. All wins are multiplied by the total bet divided by 20.

Wild Symbol

The anchor is the wild. It appears on reels 2, 3, and 4 only, substituting for all regular symbols. It cannot replace Scatter or Fireball symbols.

Cash Falls Feature

When a Fireball symbol lands on any reel, it sticks in place for the next 3 spins at the same bet level. The number of remaining holds is displayed as coins beneath that reel. Fireballs can land in stacks of 1, 2, or 3, but only one stack may land per reel per spin.

If the entire reel fills with Fireball symbols before the countdown runs out, the Cash Falls Feature triggers and pays all values displayed on those Fireballs. If the counter reaches zero before the reel fills, the Fireballs clear without paying. Each Fireball carries a cash value or jackpot based on which reel it occupies:

Reel Possible values
Reels 1, 2 0.50–6.25x total bet, Mini jackpot, or Fire Link Feature
Reels 3, 4 0.50–25.00x total bet, Minor, Mini jackpot, or Fire Link Feature
Reel 5 0.75–50.00x total bet, Mega, Major, Minor, Mini jackpot, or Fire Link Feature

Fire Boost

While the Cash Falls Feature is active, once all positions on a reel are held with Fireballs, the Fire Boost may randomly upgrade one or more of those Fireball values to a higher multiplier or jackpot. Only one Fireball per reel can be upgraded to the Fire Link Feature value.

Fire Link Feature

The Fire Link Feature triggers during the base game when an entire reel is filled with Fireballs and one of them displays the Fire Link Feature symbol. The feature starts with 3 spins. The triggering Fireballs are randomly placed on rows 1–4 and held for the duration. Any additional Fireball that lands resets the spin counter to 3. As held symbols accumulate, active rows expand:

Held symbols on active rows Active rows
Up to 7 Rows 1–4
8–11 Rows 1–5
12–15 Rows 1–6
16–19 Rows 1–7
20+ Rows 1–8

At the end of the feature, every Fireball on an active row pays its displayed value. If all 40 positions fill, no additional spins are played and all values are awarded. The Fire Link Feature can retrigger: if a Fireball on an active row displays the Fire Link Retrigger symbol, 4 new randomly placed Fireballs are added and the feature continues. Row numbering runs from the bottom row upward.

Jackpots

Four fixed jackpots are available. Values shown at a $2.00 stake: Mini ($50.00), Minor ($100.00), Major ($1,000.00), Mega ($20,000.00). These are fixed amounts, not progressive. Jackpots are awarded when the corresponding jackpot symbol appears on a Fireball during the Cash Falls or Fire Link features.

Free Spins

The Fisherman’s Wharf Scatter symbol triggers the Free Spins Bonus. Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters awards 10, 12, or 15 free spins respectively, plus an instant payout of 1x the total bet. During free spins, any Fireball that lands is held for the remainder of the feature rather than for a fixed countdown. If an entire reel fills with Fireballs during free spins, a spin of the wheel above the reels is awarded. The wheel pays a 2x–5x multiplier applied to all Fireballs on that reel, or triggers the Fire Link Feature. If the wheel awards Fire Link, those Fireballs are released from the free spins hold and used to trigger the feature; once Fire Link completes, that reel locks, showing the result for the remainder of the bonus. If all 28 reel positions fill with Fireballs, no additional spins are played.

Fireball values during free spins differ slightly from the base game. Reels 1 and 2 can award up to 50.00x total bet (compared to 6.25x in the base game), giving held Fireballs considerably more weight in the bonus round.

How to Play

Reading the Grid

The asymmetric layout takes a few spins to read naturally. Reel 5 is substantially taller than the others at 8 symbols high, which means it has more positions available for Fireball stacks and carries the highest possible jackpot values. A stack of 3 Fireballs on reel 5 covers nearly half the reel in one drop. Bets run from $0.20 to $45.00 per spin. The ways count of 4,608 applies when the grid is clear — reduce it mentally whenever Fireballs are occupying positions, since those spots block regular symbol evaluation.

The game’s heritage is the land-based casino floor. It was originally designed as a cabinet title before its online launch as a Caesars exclusive in May 2025, and that origin shows in the presentation. The visual style, audio feedback, and feature pacing are calibrated for floor play rather than a phone screen. It functions on mobile, but it’s at its most natural on a larger display.

Paytable

Values below reflect a $2.00 total bet. Payouts scale with stake and are calculated as ways-win multiplied by total bet divided by 20.

Premium Symbols

Symbol 5 of a kind 4 of a kind 3 of a kind 2 of a kind
Octopus (top) $3.00 $2.00 $1.50 $0.60
Goldfish $1.50 $1.00 $0.60 n/a
Starfish $1.50 $1.00 $0.60 n/a

Low Symbols

Symbol 5 of a kind 4 of a kind 3 of a kind
A $0.60 $0.40 $0.20
K $0.60 $0.40 $0.20
Q $0.60 $0.40 $0.20
J $0.60 $0.40 $0.20

The octopus is the only symbol paying on 2-of-a-kind. Standard symbol wins are secondary to the outcomes of the Fireball feature. The paytable values are modest by design, with the real weight sitting in what the Fireballs display when they pay.

Like most Light & Wonder titles, this one comes in multiple RTP versions: 96%, 94%, and 90%. Check the in-game info screen to confirm which setting your platform uses.
