Cops Vs Robs Demo

Prohibition-era Chicago through a noir lens. Cops Vs Robs from Belatra drops you into a 5×5 grid dressed in sepia tones and back-alley shadows, where the first decision you make is which side of the law to play. Choose Cops, and the volatility stays high with more frequent returns. Choose Robs and the swings get wider, pushing the risk toward extra volatility territory where bigger hits come at the cost of longer dry stretches.

Whichever side you pick, the grid runs 20 paylines with expanding Wilds that fill entire reels and carry growing multipliers, a Shootout modifier that fires coins or winning combinations onto the reels at random, and a Hold and Win bonus round loaded with special symbols that double coin values, merge lines, and chase a 10,000x maximum payout. The photorealistic crime artwork sits closer to a graphic novel than a typical slot, and the production quality throughout puts Belatra firmly in the conversation with the higher-profile studios.

Pick a Side

The Volatility Switch

Before the first spin loads, a newspaper-style splash screen asks you to choose your allegiance. Cops mode plays at high volatility with wins landing more regularly but large payouts falling less often. Robs mode shifts to extra volatility, where the reels can run cold for extended stretches before delivering sharper spikes. Each side uses its own themed symbol set. Cops get police badges, patrol cars, handcuffs, and bullets, while Robs get MOB badges, getaway cars, brass knuckles, and whisky bottles. The paytable values are equivalent between sides, so the difference is purely in the volatility profile and win distribution.

Expanding Wilds with Multipliers

The Wild symbol depicts the detective duo and can land on any reel. When it appears, it rotates up or down to fill the entire reel, turning it fully Wild. Each rotation step increases the Wild multiplier. In Cops mode, the multiplier grows by +1x per step up to a maximum of x5 when the reel is completely filled. In Robs mode, the multiplier jumps by +2x per step up to a maximum of x10. If a payline runs through a Wild reel with a multiplier, the line win is multiplied by that value. When multiple Wild reels appear on the same payline, their multipliers are summed together. Landing 5 Wild symbols across all reels triggers the maximum win of 10,000x your total bet immediately.

The Shootout

During regular spins, the Shootout Bonus can trigger at random. A Policeman or Robber character appears beside the grid and fires shots at the reels. The Policeman fires at least four shots and places Coin symbols at random positions across the grid. The Robber takes a different approach, shooting one or two reels to rearrange symbols and force a winning combination. The Shootout acts as a modifier that can seed the grid with coins to push toward a Hold and Win trigger or create instant payline wins from an otherwise losing spin.

Hold and Win

Six or more Coin symbols on the grid trigger the Hold and Win Bonus. All visible coins lock in place and 3 mini-reel spins begin. After each spin, empty positions can fill with new Coin symbols, Empty symbols, or one of three Special symbols. Landing any new Coin or Special symbol resets the spin counter back to 3. If nothing new appears, the counter drops by 1. The round ends when the counter hits zero, every position is filled with coins, or 5 Key symbols are collected.

Coin denominations range from 1 through 100, displayed in bronze (1 to 5), silver (10 to 25), and gold (50 to 100) tiers. The final payout equals the sum of all coin values on the grid multiplied by your bet.

Three Special symbols appear during the Hold and Win round. The Revolver Drum fires 1 to 6 shots at random coins on the grid, doubling each coin it hits. The Tommy Gun fires 5 shots along a random horizontal or vertical line, doubling every coin in that line. The Key symbol tracks toward the jackpot trigger. Collecting 5 Keys during a single Hold and Win round awards the full 10,000x maximum win instantly. A maximum of 3 Revolver Drums, 3 Tommy Guns, and 5 Keys can appear per spin.

A Merging Coins system runs after each respin. The line of 5 coins with the highest combined value merges into a single coin, which is repositioned to give the best chance of completing a new full line. This creates a compounding effect where scattered low-value coins consolidate into higher-value clusters as the round progresses.

Buying In

The Buy Bonus menu offers three options. Cop Bonus costs 100x your bet and enters a Hold and Win round tuned for more frequent wins. Rob Bonus costs 400x and enters a Hold and Win round with higher ceiling potential. The Wild Symbols option buys regular spins with 1 to 5 Wild symbols guaranteed on every spin, keeping the expanding multiplier system active throughout.

Two Ante Bet tiers let you increase the trigger frequency for Hold and Win during regular play. Bet+25% adds a quarter to your stake in Cops mode, while Bet+50% adds half in Robs mode. When playing with either Ante Bet active, winnings are calculated against the standard bet amount rather than the inflated cost, so the increased frequency comes at a proportionally higher price per spin. A Fast Purchase mode is also available, replacing the spin button with a single-click buy that repeats your selected bonus option automatically.

How to Play

The Rap Sheet

Five reels tall and five rows wide, running 20 locked lines. Combinations read from the leftmost reel across, and each line awards its single best-paying match. The betting uses a credit system—players can wager up to 125 credits per line, with a maximum of 2,500 credits per spin. Typically, most operators offer a starting bet of 0.20 credits.

Volatility is player-selected at the start of each session. Cops mode runs at high volatility with steadier returns, while Robs mode operates at extra volatility with larger swings. You can switch between modes at any time between spins. The RTP is 96.11% across both modes.

The Wild symbol substitutes for all standard paying symbols. It expands to fill its entire reel and carries a growing multiplier. In Cops mode, the multiplier increases by +1x per expansion step to a maximum of x5 per reel. In Robs mode, it increases by +2x per step to a maximum of x10. Multiple Wild multipliers on the same payline are summed together.

This happens repeatedly throughout the round, consolidating scattered low-value coins into larger clusters as the feature progresses.
