Fruits Demo Overview

Fruits splash screen showing the logo and three feature badges
Sticky Fruit Spins, Lightning Rounds and Mystery Wrappers appear as three wrapped badges beneath the yellow Fruits logo.

Six grapes along one line pay 25x in Fruits, and the game’s maximum stays short of 3,000x. Next to the studio’s later games, that is a narrow spread, and the slot doesn’t try to hide it. The board carries the interest instead. A 2×2 block of reels stands beside a 4×3 block, 16 positions linked by 116 fixed lines, and each block has its own job once a feature starts. The whole thing is built for a phone held upright, and the lines turn with the screen.

The splash comes first, with three feature badges wrapped like sweets under a yellow logo. Past it, glossy fruit fills pale tiles in two framed blocks. Grapes, dragon fruit, strawberries, pineapples, lemons, apples, oranges, and blueberries share the reels with a round red fruit and a striped green berry. The Wild is a blue star on a pink tile, and the Lightning Bolt is gold on purple. Anyone browsing the site’s fruit slots will know the palette; the reel shape is what differs.

Fruits went live on 30 January 2019, early in the catalogue of Nolimit City and well before the studio became part of Evolution. It predates the xNudge and xWays features that now fill most of that catalogue, and it shows.

Bonus Features

Three features share the board. None of them can be bought, and there’s no booster, so every spin in the demo costs the same.

Mystery Wrappers

Any spin in the main game can wrap between 4 and 9 positions before the reels stop. The wrappers then open, and every wrapped position shows one matching symbol. That symbol can be anything except the Lightning Bolt, and the reveal is able to start Sticky Fruit Spins on the same spin.

Four Fruits in the Corner

Sticky Fruit Spins begins when one symbol fills all four positions of the 2×2 block during regular play. The Wild won’t help here, so the corner needs four real fruits of one kind. Once the feature starts, the winning symbols stick and the reels respin. Every new winning symbol that lands earns another respin, and the sequence stops on the first respin that adds nothing.

Lightning Rounds

The Bolt Chart

Three or more Lightning Bolts anywhere on the 4×3 block start Lightning Rounds, and Nolimit City sets the odds of that at 1 in 187 spins. The round gives 5 spins to collect bolts on the 4×3, up to 12 in total. The count sets a starting pay of 5x for 3 bolts, 12x for 6, 30x for 10, and 100x for 12.

Meanwhile, the 2×2 block changes role. Red Upgrade spades land there and add to the pay at the current level, from +1 at the bottom of the chart to +25 once all 12 bolts are in. Green +1 symbols add a spin. The game sets no limit on either, and it keeps collecting upgrades and extra spins after the twelfth bolt.

Both Features on One Spin

Sticky Fruit Spins and Lightning Rounds can start from the same spin. The respins play out first, then the bolt round begins, and each mode spins on a reel set of its own.

How to Play

A 2×2 Beside a 4×3

Fruits reels with a Wild star on reel 3 and dragon fruit wins across the 2x2 and 4x3 blocks
A blue star Wild on reel 3 completes dragon fruit wins across both blocks for 4.8x in total.

Reels 1 and 2 are two positions tall, reels 3 to 6 are three, and the 116 fixed lines run through both blocks. A line pays for a run of matching symbols on neighbouring reels beginning with reel 1. Each line returns just its largest combination, and one symbol can pay on several lines at once. On a wide screen, the lines read across. Held upright, the same game reads from top to bottom, which is the way Nolimit City designed it to be played.

The blocks split the work. The 2×2 is where Sticky Fruit Spins starts and where upgrades land during Lightning Rounds. The 4×3 is the only area where a Lightning Bolt counts. Spend a little time in the demo, and the division becomes obvious, since the eye learns to check the corner first.

RTP and Stakes

The RTP is 96.23%, and no menu option changes it, since the game has no booster and no buy. Nolimit City accepts bets between €0.10 and €100. The game’s rules give a simulated maximum of 2,921x, while the studio’s game page shows 2,910x.

Paytable

Every fruit pays from three of a kind, and the sixth reel does most of the lifting, taking grapes from 3x for five to 25x for six. The Wild has no line pay, and the Lightning Bolt pays through the Lightning Rounds chart instead of the table.

Grapes 0.25x 0.5x 3x 25x

Ultimate Slots Verdict

A split board makes the case here. Fruits plays gently by Nolimit City's later measure and its maximum is small, but the 2x2 corner gives both features a reason to watch it, and that alone earns a few demo rounds.

3.5/5 Very Good

✓ What We Like

  • The 2x2 corner does two jobs, starting Sticky Fruit Spins and feeding upgrades into Lightning Rounds
  • Lightning Rounds starts at 100x for 12 bolts, with no limit on upgrades or extra spins
  • Six grapes pay 25x, a tall line pay for a fruit game
  • The lines follow the screen, so the game plays naturally on a phone held upright

✗ What Could Be Better

  • The maximum is small beside the studio's later games
  • No xMechanic, booster, or feature buy changes how a spin plays
  • Sticky Fruit Spins needs four of one fruit in a four-position corner, and the Wild can't help

Detailed Review

Nolimit Before xNudge

Fruits packs 116 lines into 16 positions, and that number explains the paytable. A line of three low fruits pays 0.05x, a figure that only makes sense when one symbol can complete several lines at the same moment. Wins arrive as small stacks of line pays rather than as single big hits.

So, is there a reason to open a 2019 fruit slot from a studio now known for xNudge, xWays, and six-figure caps? The split board is the reason. The 2×2 corner is a trigger zone in the main game and a supply line during Lightning Rounds, so the same four positions matter in both modes and the eye keeps two places in view. That idea gives the game a shape of its own, and it still works seven years on.

Mystery Wrappers do more for the corner than their size suggests. A wrap of 4 to 9 positions that takes in both of the first two reels can give the block four matching fruits in one reveal, which is the most direct route into Sticky Fruit Spins the game offers. Without it, the respin feature would depend on four separate fruits lining up by chance.

Against it, the maximum is modest beside almost everything Nolimit City has made since, no x-branded feature changes the board, and between features, the game can go quiet for long stretches. Sticky Fruit Spins needs four of one fruit in a four-position corner with no help from the Wild, so on most spins, the 2×2 is decoration. Three matching fruits in the corner with a stranger in the fourth slot is the near-miss the design keeps offering, and it works on the eye the way it’s meant to.

Lightning Rounds carries the rest of the case. Twelve bolts start the pay at 100x, the upgrade step at that level is +25, and the game puts no limit on how many upgrades or extra spins the 2×2 hands out. A long round with a busy corner is where the real value comes from, and it’s the part of this review’s argument that the chart makes plainest.

For a player who likes watching two parts of a board at once, the game rewards that attention. Anyone who came to Nolimit City for nudging Wilds and huge caps will find an earlier version of the studio, tidier and far less extreme.

The studio went back to the theme in 2020 with Immortal Fruits, capped at 2,787x, a little under this one. Among the other fruit games on the site, Juicy Fruits is another fruit slot on the site to set beside it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Each block runs a different feature. The 2x2 on reels 1 and 2 starts Sticky Fruit Spins and hands out upgrades and extra spins during Lightning Rounds, while the 4x3 on reels 3 to 6 is the only area where Lightning Bolts count. The 116 lines join the two for regular wins.
Four of the same fruit filling the 2x2 block on a main-game spin in Fruits. The Wild won't complete the four, though a Mystery Wrapper reveal can. Winning symbols then stick, and the respins continue while new winners keep landing.
The bolts collected over 5 spins set a starting pay, from 5x for three up to 100x for 12. Upgrade symbols in the 2x2 add the chart's step for that level, between +1 and +25, and Extra Spins symbols add a spin. Fruits sets no limit on either.
Any symbol except the Lightning Bolt. Between 4 and 9 wrapped positions open on one matching symbol before the reels stop, and that reveal can be enough to start Sticky Fruit Spins.
They play one after the other. Fruits runs Sticky Fruit Spins first and then moves into Lightning Rounds, each on its own reel set.
The lines turn with the screen, reading from top to bottom when the phone is upright and across on a wide screen, so nothing changes in the maths. Nolimit City launched the game with portrait play as its headline idea.
