Fire in the Hole 2 Demo by Nolimit City

Nolimit City built the 2024 sequel by burying things. Dirt blocks fill the rows under the hazard bar in the Fire in the Hole 2 demo, and any can hide a Wild, an xSplit, or a gold Bonus coin, dormant until a collapse opens the block. The 2021 original buried nothing and charged nothing to dig. This one asks 2.5x the stake to clear the dirt, and the cap moved from 60,000x to 65,000x.

Slot Breakdown

The Collapsing Mine

A win, an exploding xBomb Wild, or Wild Mining collapses the board, freeing another row each time. Collapsing grids are house work across the Nolimit City catalogue.

xBomb Wilds

Only the Bonus coin is off limits to the xBomb Wild, which stands in for everything else. When it explodes, it clears the symbols around it and adds its value, x1, x2, x3, or higher, to the win multiplier for the next collapse.

Wild Mining

Three, four, five, or six of one symbol aligned horizontally or vertically with no winning combination pays nothing and fires Wild Mining. Wild Mining clears the alignment and drops Wilds into its middle positions, one for three symbols up to four for six, while the rest above the bar explodes.

Buried Features and xSplit

Fire in the Hole 2 reels showing dynamite, boots and shovel symbols above the hazard bar with dirt blocks beneath
Dynamite, boots, treasure map and shovel above the hazard bar with card ranks between them, and two dirt blocks below holding a SPLIT and a TNT that do nothing until the stone clears. Dynamite is the 7.5x symbol at six.

Dirt blocks may hold a Wild, an xSplit symbol, or a Bonus coin, asleep until the block clears or a split reaches it. xSplit splits the symbols on its row and doubles them, with eight or more arriving as a multiplier.

The xBet Toggle

xBet, at 2.5x the stake, guarantees a Bonus coin on the last inactive row every spin, with every dirt position stripped out so buried features act at once. It brings Lucky Wagon Spins round roughly four times more often.

Lucky Wagon Spins

Fire in the Hole 2 feature screen showing the Beer wagon, the Dwarf wagon and the Collect Chest
The wagon enhancers split the work. Beer wakes up to five spent coins and sets the triggering one to 1x, the Dwarf sweeps every value at his coin’s position, and a Collect Chest opened by Dynamite keeps collecting its column each spin.

How much of the board you start with comes down to the Bonus coins: two rows open on three of them, three rows on four, and four rows on five. Three spins is all you get at first, though a coin landing anywhere tops the count straight back up. Above the reels runs a strip of enhancers that changes every spin. Each one stays dormant until a coin drops into the reel underneath, and then it might fix that coin’s value between 1x and 100x, raise every coin in the reel by x2 to x25, set off Dynamite charges equal to its tally, or call in the Dwarf, who pulls every value on the board onto his coin.

The Upgrade Reel

A seventh reel beside the area can show Upgrade symbols. Coins firing an enhancer on an Upgrade row keep working, with Dynamite, Beer, and the Dwarf turning persistent until the round ends. The round stops at 65,000x, the Elbeerado limit.

How to Play

Rows, Collapses and Ways

Every spin starts with half the board switched off. Few mining slots hide three of their rows under a bar of stone, but that is the setup here, three live rows above it and three dirt rows below. Winning symbols pay and vanish, the rest fall, new symbols drop in, and another row opens, up to six. The ways total follows the rows, reading 486 on the resting board and 46,656 with all six open, against 64 at the narrowest configuration the rules allow.

Wins build from reel one across neighbouring reels, each way paying its best combination. Controls are bare, with a spacebar toggle the one shortcut in the settings panel.

Bets and RTP

The bet menu starts at €0.20 and finishes at €100. The RTP is 96.07%, and running xBet raises it to 96.09% on a spin that costs 2.5x. Lower settings exist as well, and the table below lists them.

Setting RTP
Main game 96.07%
xBet 96.09%
Operator builds 94.08% / 92.07% / 87.05%

Nolimit City’s own volatility word for this one is Extreme, and on a collapsing game, that describes distribution rather than pace. Most collapses stop after a step or two and hand back less than the bet. The return is stored in Lucky Wagon Spins, where coin values and multipliers do the paying. This review rates it High.

Game Paytable

Dynamite leads at 7.5x for six and the fall from there is steep, with the belt pouch paying half as much for the same six. The five card ranks land within half a point of each other at the top tier.

Symbol 3 4 5 6
Dynamite 0.75x 2x 4x 7.5x
Belt pouch 0.5x 0.75x 2x 3.75x
Treasure map 0.45x 0.6x 1.5x 2.5x
Boots 0.4x 0.55x 1.25x 2x
Shovel 0.35x 0.5x 1x 1.75x
K 0.3x 0.4x 0.8x 1.5x
Q 0.25x 0.35x 0.7x 1.25x
J 0.2x 0.3x 0.6x 1.1x
10 0.2x 0.3x 0.6x 1.05x
9 0.2x 0.3x 0.6x 1x

No payout row exists for the xBomb Wild, the xSplit symbol, or the gold Bonus coin, each being valued by what it does to the board.

Ultimate Slots Verdict

The dirt is the whole idea of this sequel, and 2.5x is what it charges to clear it. Depth is where the upgrade lands, not in the pays, which came straight from 2021. Rated for the feature stack rather than the board underneath it.

4.5/5 Outstanding

✓ What We Like

  • xBet at 2.5x guarantees a Bonus coin on the last inactive row and strips every dirt block out of the main game
  • Wild Mining pays out of a dead alignment, turning three to six matched symbols into one to four Wilds
  • The seventh Upgrade reel makes Dynamite, Beer, and the Dwarf persistent, which is where the largest coin rounds come from
  • Collapses take the board from 486 ways at rest to 46,656 with all six rows open

✗ What Could Be Better

  • The collapse engine and the symbol pays are carried over from 2021 without change
  • Most of the return is stored in Lucky Wagon Spins, and reaching it without paying the xBet surcharge is slow

Detailed Review

Slot Review

A mid-collapse screen says most of it. Four rows open, a 2304 WAYS plaque lit in the corner, an x2 waiting on the frame for the next collapse to spend it, and two rows of stone still sitting underneath. The board grows while it pays, and that growth is what the round is worth.

What the sequel adds is all in the dirt and the wagon. xSplit doubles a row, Buried Features gives the mine something to conceal, the Beer enhancer brings spent coins back to life, and the seventh Upgrade reel turns Dynamite, Beer, and the Dwarf into features that keep firing until the coin round ends. That is a deeper stack than the 2021 game carried, and the 65,000x limit moved up to match it.

Set against that, the collapse itself is untouched and the symbol pays match the original to the decimal, so part of the upgrade is priced rather than designed. Away from the demo, the studio’s published pricing runs 70x for a three-coin entry, 200x for four, 600x for five, 175x for the Lucky Draw, and 3,600x for a round with a persistent Dwarf. In free play, none of that applies and xBet is the only lever you have.

Read the trilogy as one escalation, and this is its middle step. Fire in the Hole stopped at 60,000x in 2021, this game at 65,000x, and Fire in the Hole 3 took it to 70,000x in 2025 with another layer on the same collapse. The middle one is where the mine stopped being simple.

Frequently Asked Questions

It added xSplit, Buried Features, the Beer enhancer, xBet at 2.5x the stake, and a seventh Upgrade reel that makes enhancers persistent, and it raised the limit from 60,000x to 65,000x. The collapsing six-reel board, the xBomb Wild, and Wild Mining are carried over.
xBet costs 2.5x the stake per spin. It guarantees at least one Bonus coin on the last inactive row and removes every dirt position, so buried Wilds, xSplits, and Bonus coins land uncovered and act immediately. Symbol payouts stay the same and the return reads 96.09% with it switched on.
A seventh reel beside the reel area can reveal Upgrade symbols. Any coin that activates an enhancer on an Upgrade row gains an extra effect. Coin values and multipliers stay active for the next spin, while Dynamite, Beer, and Dwarf become persistent and keep working until the round ends.
