About Game

Ice Mints Basics

Three cups stand under reels 2, 3, and 4, and in standard play they take random multipliers worth x2 to x20, or x2 to x25 on reel 4. Free spins throw all of that out. The cups begin the round at nothing, every mint that drops into one without setting off a wild expansion adds 1x to it, and whatever they climb to stays until the last spin. Building that second paytable is what the feature is for, and it’s the clearest idea Pragmatic Play has put on 20 fixed lines this year.

The artwork clashes with the name. Mints appear on the logo and as the symbol that fills the cups, while everything that pays is a drink or a fruit, from the smoothie at the top of the table down to the orange slice at the bottom, and the scatter is a soda can. This is a loud August 2025 release in glossy pop-art colours, nearer the fizz of Fruit Party than anything the ice field suggests.

Demo Features

Three Cups, Two Ranges

The cups are a second scoring system with their own values. At every spin, random multipliers appear on random cups, and reels 2 and 3 draw from x2 to x20 while reel 4 draws from x2 to x25. A cup’s figure counts when that cup expands wilds on the whole reel above it, and at that moment it multiplies every win on screen.

When two or three cups are in play together, their figures add to each other rather than compounding, so three cups at their highest listed values come to x65. The asymmetry is deliberate. Reel 4 is where a five-symbol line is decided, and it carries the longer range.

The Mints Symbol

Mints carry no pay values. They drop into the cups, fresh symbols fill the gaps they leave, and the wild cannot stand in for them, so nothing reaches a cup by substitution. Eight symbols pay, from the smoothie down to the orange, and the mints and the soda-can scatter are the two that do a job instead of paying one.

The 80x Buy

Ice Mints base game with the Buy Free Spins panel and three empty cups under reels 2, 3 and 4
The buy panel prices the free spins at 80x the total bet, with all three cups empty below the reels and turbo spin held on the space bar.

Buying the round is priced at 80x current total bet and runs at 96.55%, five hundredths of a point above the default build. That price is set against a free-spins trigger that occurs roughly once in 180 spins, on a slot that otherwise hits about 19% of the time. The buy is the shortest route to the rebuild, and it’s priced like one.

The Free Spins Rebuild

3, 4, or 5 scatters pay 10, 15, or 20 free spins, and scatters can appear on all five reels. In the round, the cups start empty and build their own multipliers. Every mint that lands in a cup without triggering a wild expansion above it adds 1x, and what a cup builds stays with it until the spins run out.

Special reels are in play throughout, and a retrigger on 3, 4, or 5 scatters adds another 10, 15, or 20. Those extra spins matter more here than in most Pragmatic features, because they inherit cup multipliers that a 10-spin round rarely has time to grow.

The difference between a good round and a dead one is arrival time. A cup at x9 by the fourth spin reshapes everything after it, while the same x9 on the last spin pays once. Nothing else inside the feature moves, so the cups do all of the work.

The rules panel sets out the feature’s version of the cups, which start without a multiplier and gain 1x for each mint that drops in without expanding wilds above it.

How to Play

Cup Positions

A line needs reels 1, 2, and 3 before it pays anything, and only reels 2, 3, and 4 have a cup beneath them. That makes the three cups unequal in more than just their multiplier ranges. A column of wilds on reel 2 feeds every line that’s going to pay at all, while an expansion on reel 4 only lengthens lines already running through the first three reels. Reels 1 and 5 can still land a wild the ordinary way, but they never fill, so both ends of a line are decided by what actually stopped there.

Twenty fixed lines is a small number for a 2025 Pragmatic release, and it keeps the cups legible, because each line crosses all five reels once and one expansion touches every one of them.

RTP and Bet Values

The demo uses the 96.50% RTP build, and the buy switches it to 96.55%. Other versions of this game use lower returns, and the row below lists the two it is known to ship with. The High volatility marking on the splash matches where this review puts the game, which isn’t true of every Pragmatic badge.

Paytable

The step from the smoothie’s 40x for five down to the cola’s 20x is the biggest drop in the table, and the four fruits underneath share a tight band from 5x to 2.5x for a full line. Three matching pays on every symbol, though at the bottom that is 0.15x. The distances are what make the table, with the smoothie worth eight times the strawberry across five reels.

Symbol 3 4 5
Smoothie 2x 10x 40x
Cola 1x 5x 20x
Soda cup 0.75x 3.75x 15x
Juice box 0.5x 2.5x 10x
Strawberry 0.25x 1.25x 5x

Ultimate Slots Verdict

Ice Mints turns its multipliers into something you build rather than something you're given, and that single decision carries the slot. The cups are a second paytable, the free spins make you stock it from nothing, and the reel 4 range gives the longest lines the biggest figure. A trigger that lands about once in 180 spins is the cost of admission, and the 80x buy prices it about right.

4/5 Excellent

✓ What We Like

  • Free spins rebuild the cup multipliers from zero and keep whatever they reach until the last spin
  • The reel 4 cup runs to x25 while reels 2 and 3 stop at x20, and cups in play together add to each other
  • The buy runs at 96.55%, slightly above the 96.50% default build

✗ What Could Be Better

  • A free-spins trigger about once in 180 spins leaves most of a session in standard play
  • A 10-spin round can finish before the cups have grown past low single figures

Detailed Review

How it Compares

Free spins open with three empty cups and, most of the time, 10 spins to fill them. Each mint that drops into a cup without expanding wilds above it is 1x on that cup, and it stays there. The round is a race between the mints and the counter. A cup at x8 by the fourth spin rewrites everything after it. A cup at x2 on the ninth pays once, and then the spins are gone.

The rest of the demo is not that. The free-spins trigger arrives around once in 180 spins on a slot that hits roughly 19% of the time, so what most players meet is standard play, where cups take random multipliers of x2 to x20, or x2 to x25 on reel 4, and either expand wilds or don’t. That version is fine. It’s also thin, and 20 lines don’t hide it.

Held against the rest of Pragmatic Play‘s 2025 output, the restraint reads as a choice. No tumbles, no ante bet, no ways format, no second feature. Twenty lines, three cups, and one round that changes how those cups behave. Sugar Rush lets its multiplier spots land and grow anywhere on the grid; Ice Mints stacks the same idea into three fixed columns, which makes the growth narrower, slower, and far easier to read at a glance. The clearest tell is the reel 4 range. A studio padding a release would have given all three cups the same 25 steps, and this one hands the extra five to the reel that only counts once a line already runs four long.

The 80x buy is the direct way to reach it, and free play is where you find out whether a 10-spin rebuild from zero is a round you want to chase. Usually, it is, and the games it will be set beside mostly hand you the multipliers instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

They reset to nothing. Inside the feature, the cups in Ice Mints take no random multipliers at all, and instead every mint that drops into a cup without expanding wilds on the reel above adds 1x to it. Whatever the three cups build stays with them until the round finishes.
The three cups draw from different ranges by design. Reels 2 and 3 run from x2 to x20 and reel 4 runs from x2 to x25, and when more than one cup is used their figures add together rather than multiplying. Where the higher figure lands changes what a screen is worth.
Yes. A round is limited to 10,000x the bet. Once the total gets there, the game pays the win and whatever was left of the feature doesn't continue, so a round that reaches the limit early ends early.
