About Game

Slot Overview

Every wild in Cleocatra lands with a 2x or 3x on it, and 2 wilds in the same win add their values together rather than multiplying them. That one rule shapes the whole slot. Between features the wild passes through reels 2 to 5 and is gone on the next spin. In free spins it stays where it landed, keeps its number for the round, and the 5×4 board with 40 lines fills in around it. Pragmatic Play released the game on 26 May 2022, with the court of ancient Egypt recast as cats. The demo runs at a 96.20% RTP.

How the Demo Works

Cleocatra reels after a spin showing a 2x wild on reel 4 and no win
A 2x wild on reel 4 after a $2.00 spin, with a bob-cut cat and a K on reel 1 and no line to join them; credit $99,998.00

Wild Multipliers on Reels 2 to 5

The pyramid wild substitutes for everything except the scatter, and it only appears on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. Each time it lands, the game gives it a random 2x or 3x, shown on the symbol, and that multiplier applies to every win the wild is part of. When 2 or more wilds sit in one winning line, the game adds their multipliers. So, a 2x and a 3x on one line make 5x, and three 3x wilds make 9x.

Reel 1 never holds a wild, so every line still needs a real symbol to start from. The wild has no line pay of its own either; the paytable shows only its multiplier rule, with no cash value listed.

The Reel 1 Respin

Whenever a full stack of 4 identical cat symbols fills reel 1, the game can trigger a respin. The rules say every cat of that type on the screen and every wild stay in place, and every other position spins again until at least one line pays with the stacked cat in it. The wording is “can trigger”, so a stack gives a chance of a respin rather than a certainty, and only the 4 cat symbols qualify. The card symbols, the ankh and the crook and flail do nothing on reel 1 beyond their own line pays.

Free Spins With Sticky Multiplier Wilds

The gold paw scatter lands on every reel and pays in any position. Three, 4 or 5 of them pay 5x the stake and start 8, 12 or 16 free spins.

Inside the round, every wild that lands on reels 2 to 5 stays on screen through the last spin of the round, and the 2x or 3x it arrived with holds for the whole feature. Because multipliers add across a line, a 3x wild on reel 2 with a 2x on reel 3 and a 3x on reel 4 turns a Cleopatra line into an 8x line, and all three are still there for the next spin. A full cat stack on reel 1 during the feature adds 2 free spins, the one extension the rules list.

This is the shape a bonus round can take, wilds landing where they can chain across a line and hold for the rest of the feature.

Special reels are in play during the free spins feature. Each round is capped at 5,000x the bet. If the total win reaches this limit, the round ends immediately and any remaining features are forfeited.

Buy Free Spins at 100x

The purple tablet beside the reels reads Buy Free Spins $200, 100x the bet, and it redraws with the stake, so it reads $20 at $0.20 and $24,000 at the $240.00 top.

A bought round lands 3, 4 or 5 scatters at random, so the spin count is 8, 12 or 16 as it would be from a natural trigger. The RTP of the game when using BUY FREE SPINS is 96.20%, the same figure as the base reels. Cleocatra has no ante bet.

Cleocatra is listed in our site’s Cleopatra series hub. Elsewhere on the site, another Egyptian-themed game from the studio, John Hunter and the Book of Tut, uses an expanding symbol during free spins, while Cleocatra uses a multiplier wild.

How to Play

Reading the Leftmost Reel First

Cleocatra’s 40 lines are fixed, so the bet menu changes one figure, the total stake, and every line stays in play on every spin. The line map shows the 40 lines as small grids across the 4 rows. A win requires 3 matching symbols from reel 1 on adjacent reels. The game pays only the highest win on any one line, and it adds the line wins together. Since the wild never lands on reel 1, the leftmost reel is the one to read first. A cat or an ankh there starts a line, and a wild on reels 2 to 5 fills it and marks it with 2x or 3x.

The info screen covers the paytable, wild mechanics, scatter, respin and free spins features, win cap and 100x buy-in. It also explains the interface, settings and bet menus, including autoplay’s skip screens option.

Stakes and RTP

The bet runs from $0.20 to $240.00. The RTP row in the table below lists every version of the game, not only this demo’s. The listed volatility is Medium; but this review rates it High, in line with a 5,000x cap and a bonus round whose value sits almost entirely in sticky multiplier wilds.

Setting Value

Paytable

Rules page 1 at the $2.00 stake: five Cleopatra cats pay $40.00, the 10, J and Q pay $2.00, and the wild carries a random 2x or 3x

The paytable lists cash at the $2.00 stake, and the first three columns here convert each figure to a multiple of that whole stake rather than a line bet. Five Cleopatra cats pay 20x, $40 in cash, and the 10, J and Q share the lowest ladder.

Symbol 3 4 5 5 in cash
Cleopatra cat 1.5x 5x 20x $40.00
Pharaoh cat 1.25x 3.75x 12.5x $25.00
Sphynx cat 0.75x 2x 7.5x $15.00
Bob-cut cat 0.5x 1.25x 5x $10.00
Ankh 0.35x 0.75x 3.75x $7.50
Crook and flail 0.25x 0.5x 2.5x $5.00
A, K 0.15x 0.3x 1.5x $3.00
Q, J, 10 0.1x 0.25x 1x $2.00
Paw scatter (any position) 5x 5x 5x $10.00

The wild has no pay of its own. Its value is the 2x or 3x it carries into a line, so 4 Cleopatra cats and a 3x wild on one line pay 60x rather than 20x, and 2 wilds at 3x in the same line take it to 120x. The scatter pays the same 5x for 3, 4 or 5 and is the only symbol that ignores the lines.

Ultimate Slots Verdict

Cleocatra puts its value in free spins, where every 2x or 3x wild on reels 2 to 5 sticks for the round and multipliers on a shared line add up rather than multiply. The demo runs at 96.20% with a 5,000x cap and a 100x buy. Standard play is slow, because the wild never lands on reel 1 and the low symbols pay from 0.1x, so long stretches can pass without a win.

3.5/5 Very Good

What We Like

  • Sticky 2x or 3x wilds hold their value for the whole free spins round
  • Wild multipliers on one line add together, so 3 wilds at 3x make 9x on that line
  • The 96.20% RTP is the same for bought rounds as for natural triggers
  • A full cat stack on reel 1 can respin the board on a regular spin and adds 2 spins inside the feature
  • The 100x buy lands 3, 4 or 5 scatters at random, so it can pay out 16 spins

What Could Be Better

  • No wild on reel 1, so every line depends on a real symbol landing leftmost
  • The wild carries no line pay of its own, so a screen of wilds with no starting symbol on reel 1 pays nothing
  • Spins can run empty for long stretches while the multipliers wait on a line

Detailed Review

Playing the Cleocatra Demo

A 3x wild on reel 4 beside a 2x on reel 5 with no line through either is a common sight, 5x in multipliers waiting on a start that reels 1 and 2 never give. The multipliers turn up more often than the lines that would use them.

The board is bright and quick. Blue stone reels sit under a gold frame, two Anubis cats stand guard either side, pyramids fill the background, and the wild’s multiplier badge is the only animation that asks for attention.

The free spins have to carry a 96.20% return well enough to justify a High rating with a 5,000x cap, and the sticky wilds do it. Every wild in the round holds its 2x or 3x until the end, and the game adds multipliers on a shared line rather than multiplying them, so the round builds in a straight line. Four wilds on reels 2 to 5 at 3x each make 12x on any line they share, and they share it for every spin that remains. The additive rule keeps the top end honest, and it is why 5,000x is a cap the game can reach rather than a headline it never touches. The counterweight is the rest of the game. With no wild on reel 1 and a 40-line board that pays 0.1x for three 10s, money moves slowly between features, and a run of blank screens is the normal price of waiting.

The respin on reel 1 is the feature the rules undersell. A full stack of one cat locks it and respins everything else until a line pays, and inside the feature the same stack adds 2 spins, so the leftmost reel does the work the wild can’t. Pragmatic Play used the same sticky multiplier wild idea in The Dog House, and the two demos are the fair comparison for anyone deciding which round to chase in free play.

Cleocatra is a 3.5 out of 5 slot. The demo runs at 96.20%, and the round it lets you buy for 100x has a clear build to it. The wait between rounds is the price, and the demo shows it within a handful of spins.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. The game adds them. A 2x wild and a 3x wild in the same winning line give that line 5x, and three 3x wilds give it 9x. Each wild's multiplier is set at random when it lands, and in free spins it stays fixed for the whole round.
In the main game, a full vertical stack of 4 identical cat symbols on reel 1 can start the respin. Every cat of that type on the screen and every wild stay put, and the other positions spin again until at least one line pays with that cat in it. Only the 4 cat symbols qualify, and the rules say the stack can trigger the feature rather than always doing so.
Yes. Cleocatra's rules give the game a 96.20% RTP and state the same 96.20% for Buy Free Spins. Buying costs 100x the stake, and the triggering spin lands 3, 4 or 5 scatters at random, so a bought round can be 8, 12 or 16 spins.
Three scatters give 8 spins, 4 give 12, and 5 give 16, and the 3 or more scatters also pay 5x the stake on the way in. Inside the round, a full stack of any cat symbol on reel 1 adds 2 more spins. The round stops early only at the 5,000x cap.
Reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. Reel 1 never holds a wild, so every line needs a real symbol there to start from. Each wild lands with a 2x or 3x on it, and in standard play it clears on the next spin, while in free spins it stays in place with its multiplier until the round ends.
Five Cleopatra cats on a line, 20x the stake, is the highest plain line pay. The multiplier wilds raise it, since 4 Cleopatra cats and one 3x wild on the same line pay 60x, and 2 wilds at 3x lift that line to 120x. The wild itself carries no figure of its own on the paytable.
