About Game

Magic Ace Slot Demo

What happens to a half-filled row of gems when you change the stake? In the Magic Ace demo, the row changes with it. Every total bet keeps its own gem collector, so three lit gems at one stake can show as an empty row at the next. The five slots wait under a line of circus cannons, and this card slot fills that collector one Super Joker at a time.

Bunting runs across a blue sky, with a red-and-white striped tent at the top right. Four blue cannons each point a red-ringed ball marked x1, x2, x3, or x5, and the lit one turns gold. The cards are white. The Ace is a black spade with a gold crown and ACE in gold letters, the King has a white beard and a blue-and-gold robe, the Queen wears a red hood, and the Jack a navy cap. The target is a red-and-white bullseye with a dart stuck near its yellow centre.

Golden Cards

Gold-backed versions of the cards appear at random on reels 2, 3, and 4 only. Gold or not, a card pays its normal table value, and golden and white versions count together, so a golden King on reel 2 completes a three-King way with white Kings on reels 1 and 3. Winners clear and new cards fall from the top until nothing else wins, but Golden Cards and targets stay where they are. A Golden Card that was part of a win then flips over in its own spot.

Super, Big or Small Joker

The flip is where the Wild comes from, since a Joker only ever appears from a winning Golden Card. The card turns face down, comes up as a Joker Card, and the game picks at random between three modes. A Super Joker takes only the Golden Card’s position and, outside free spins, sends one gem to the collector. A Big Joker takes that position too, then copies of it replace other symbols at random, skipping targets and any other Golden Cards. A Small Joker swaps out only the Golden Card’s square and leaves the rest of the grid alone. All three act as Wilds for any card, never for the target, and the game clears a Joker that forms part of another win like any other winner, with fresh cards dropping into the gap.

JDB Gaming’s Booming Multipliers

JDB Gaming calls the cannon row the Booming Multipliers, and it works within a single spin. A spin starts with x1 lit, each cascade moves the light one cannon along to x2, x3, and then x5, and whichever cannon is lit when a win pays multiplies it. When the next spin starts, the row resets to x1.

Gem Collector

In regular play, each Super Joker lights one of the five hexagons. Fill all five, and the row becomes the Booming Multipliers Upgrade, its cannons reading x2, x3, x4, and x6 for 3 winning rounds before they return to their usual values. The upgraded row plays the same way as the normal one, a step per cascade, only from higher numbers. Each total bet has its own collector and its own upgrade status, so a different stake brings up a different row of gems.

Free Spin Upgrades

Three or more targets on any reels start 10 free spins. During the bonus, another 3 or more add 5 spins. For the round, the cannons double to x2, x4, x6, and x10. Each Super Joker that appears then adds 1 to all four at once, so one turns the row into x3, x5, x7, and x11. Up to 10 of these increases can build up, Super Jokers after the tenth add nothing, and every increase stays until the bonus ends.

How to Play

RTP

Two settings let you spend more than the total bet here, and they change different things.

Extra Bet is a bet mode that adds 50% to each spin, while wins are still calculated on the original bet, so the paytable values stay where they were and the extra half goes on the cannons. With it on, the upgraded x2, x3, x4, and x6 row applies straight away and without the 3-round limit, for as long as the mode stays on. Turning it off disables the upgrade immediately and puts the current bet’s own collector back to its original state.

In the base game, a Feature Buy costs 50x the total bet and drops 3 or more targets at random, taking you immediately into the usual 10 free spins, where the cannons start doubled and each Super Joker can add to them, up to 10 times.

On screen, a winning Golden Card shows a red card back before its Joker appears, and a Super Joker sends its gem up into the hexagon row, where that slot turns light blue. The lit cannon moves after each drop, so the cannon row tells you which multiplier the next win in a chain will get.

96.47% is the return JDB attaches to Magic Ace, and JDB grades its volatility Medium. Wins read from reel 1 across adjacent reels on 1,024 ways, with the target exempt from that direction, and each symbol pays only its highest combination on a way. A way win is also multiplied by the number of matching symbols on each reel it covers. Since Golden Cards never reach reel 1, a golden match still needs a card there to open the way.

Demo Paytable

Every court card outpays every suit, with five Aces at 2.5x and three diamonds or clubs at 0.05x. Golden Cards pay as their plain versions, the three Jokers and the target have no row, and free spins use the same values. Hearts pay the same as spades, and diamonds the same as clubs. The table reads in x the total bet, per way, before any cannon multiplier, and a win on a later drop of a chain pays its table value times the lit cannon, so the same cards are worth more at x5 than at x1.

Ultimate Slots Verdict

Magic Ace earns 4/5 for giving one symbol three jobs.

A winning Golden Card on reels 2, 3, or 4 flips at random into a Super, Big, or Small Joker, and five Super Jokers lift each bet's own collector into an x2 to x6 trail for 3 winning rounds. Free spins add 1 per Super Joker, up to 10 times.

Hits What we like

  • A winning Golden Card on the middle three reels flips at random into one of three Jokers.
  • The Big Joker can copy itself onto random positions.
  • In regular play, five Super Joker gems fill the collector and lift the trail to x2, x3, x4, and x6.
  • That upgrade lasts 3 winning rounds.
  • Free spins start the trail at x2, and each Super Joker can raise every step by 1, up to 10 times.
  • Extra Bet costs 50% more per spin and keeps the upgraded trail on until you turn off the mode.

Misses What could be better

  • The Ace tops the table at 2.5x for five on a way, before multipliers.
  • Which Joker appears is random.

Detailed Review

Magic Ace Demo Review

Five gems is the number that frames Magic Ace. Every Super Joker in regular play lights one gem in the collector, the fifth turns the cannon row into x2, x3, x4, and x6 for 3 winning rounds, and in free spins each Super Joker lifts every cannon by 1, up to 10 times. A winning Golden Card on reels 2, 3, or 4 can flip into that Joker, a Big Joker that copies itself at random, or a Small one confined to its own spot, so one symbol sets off three separate jobs. That is more layering than a golden-card Joker game needs, and it’s the standard we’ll hold the next one to.

The pays are small. The top card pays 2.5x for five on a way before any cannon, and no suit reaches 1x. Which Joker a flip produces is random, so the collector fills only as fast as the game hands out Super Jokers. The per-bet collector also has a sting built in. Lower the stake to make a balance last, and the three gems you were watching vanish from the row, because they belong to the old bet. JDB put Magic Ace out in June 2024, and that rule is the one part of the design that feels like it works against the player.

The Big Joker is the mode to hope for within one spin, since its copies can turn more cards Wild at once, while the Super Joker’s value shows up later, in the collector’s gem row. Players who like a meter to watch will find the gem row and the doubled free-spin cannons reason enough to keep going. In free play, you can see the row fill at one stake and then check what another stake has collected. Anyone who judges a slot by its card pays will see small numbers and move on, and this review wouldn’t argue them out of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

You see a different collector. Each total bet keeps its own gem count and its own upgrade status, so the gems lit at your previous stake stay with that stake.
The Big Joker. Either can appear at random when a winning Golden Card on the middle three reels flips. The Big one then copies itself onto random positions, except targets and other Golden Cards, while the Small one affects nothing beyond the square it flipped on.
The biggest win, by JDB's reckoning, is 2,100x your stake. The largest multipliers come in free spins, where the cannons start at x2 to x10 and each Super Joker can add 1 to all four, up to 10 times.
Magic Ace Wild Lock keeps the Golden Cards, the three Jokers, and the cannon trail, but gives the Super Joker a different job instead of the gem collector.
