In Caishen’s Temple of Gold, 28 Caishen symbols pay 12x and 30 of them pay 50x. That gap shapes the whole slot. The 5×6 grid has 30 positions, so the table’s last column needs all of them, and the game pays nothing until the Lock & Respin sequence ends and it counts each symbol that has locked, new ones included.

The look promises something busier, with red pillars, a green-and-gold roof lined with coin shapes, and purple drapes around a screen of envelopes, money bags, gold ingots, and Caishen himself. The play underneath is a count.

Octoplay first used this engine in Hot Harvest in November 2022, with the same 5×6 grid, Blaze symbols, and free spins of 7 to 20 with a multiplier to x100. Caishen’s Temple of Gold followed in June 2023 as a reskin on the same rules.

Lock & Respin

Locks, Respins and the Count

Symbols pay anywhere on the screen once 8 or more of one kind land. Every symbol that is part of a winning combination locks in its position, the others are removed, and new symbols appear in the gaps. Scatters also lock if there is a winning combination on the reels. When the new symbols form a new win or add to an existing one, Lock & Respin is triggered again.

The payout waits for the end of the sequence, and the total number of each symbol on the screen then sets its value. A chain that takes the gold A from 8 to 16 moves its pay from 0.4x to 1.6x, since the final count is the one the game pays.

The 30+ Jump

Each row climbs in small steps up to 28+ and then leaps at 30+.

Symbol Conversion covers the full-screen case. If the whole screen is filled with symbols that are part of a winning combination, the game converts all symbols except Scatters to the highest-paying combination before paying.

Red and Blue Blaze

Red Blaze, an orange-red fireball marked x5, increases the payout of the symbols it marks five times. Blue Blaze, a blue-white swirl marked x10, increases it ten times.

Free Spins

Landing 3 or more Scatters, red temples with purple-blue tiered roofs, in the same spin starts Free Spins. The round starts from 7 spins and adds 2 extra spins for each Scatter above 3, to no more than 20, and landing 3 or more Scatters during Free Spins grants additional spins.

During Free Spins, a global multiplier grows on each Lock & Respin, can go as high as x100, and is applied to all wins in the round.
