About Game

The Loner Demo

Loner has no free spins. Three TV Monitors on reels 1, 3, and 5 run the bonus instead, and when all three land together, the set changes channel to one of three arcade games or skips straight to the maximum win. The Loner demo has this 2024 Nolimit City slot in full, so every channel can be watched in free play.

Game Features

What a Monitor Can Show

Loner 5x3 reels with an Infectious xWays Monitor on reel 1 and an xSplit Monitor on reel 5
Two Monitors have opened on the 5×3 board, an Infectious xWays on reel 1 and an xSplit on reel 5.

Monitors land showing static. One or two open to reveal a plain Wild, an xSplit that turns Wild and doubles the symbols beside it by splitting them, an Infectious xWays that grows to 2 to 4 high and spreads that size to every copy of its symbol, or Max Win. Three skip the symbols and pick a channel.

Big Wilds on the Middle Reels

A 2×2 or 3×3 Big Wild can drop onto reels 2 to 4 on any spin, whole or partly in view, and an xSplit splits it on every position it covers.

The Three TV Games

Pin The Win’s Corners

A logo bounces around the screen. Each miss changes the multiplier above the reels to a new value between 1x and 500x. When the logo hits a corner, the game multiplies that corner’s prize, from 1x to 1,000x or Max Win, by the current multiplier.

Tick Tick Boom

You choose one target to blow up, and it reveals 5x to 1,000x, with Max Win also in the draw.

Shoot Shoot Duck

You get five shots, and each duck hides a symbol worth 1x to 100x, a Bomb that collects every award on screen, an Ammo clip that refills the gun, a Van that grows as it collects, or Max Win. Nolimit City aimed at the same quarry in Duck Hunters, which also uses Infectious xWays, but here the ducks are one channel out of three.

Four Ways to Max Win

Collecting a Max Win symbol is xGOD, and it can come from a Monitor in regular play, a corner in Pin The Win, a duck, or the Tick Tick Boom reveal. Each pays 14,999x, and the game stops any round whose total climbs past that figure.

Nolimit Booster

xBet costs 1.5x the normal bet per spin and guarantees a Monitor on reel 1. xBet Double Feature costs 35x and places Monitors on reels 1 and 3, leaving reel 5 to supply the third. Returns barely move: 96.00% and 96.07% respectively.

How to Play

Reading Reels 1, 3 and 5

Every spin in Loner turns on how many Monitors show up on reels 1, 3, and 5. One or two become helpers for that spin, a Wild, an xSplit, an Infectious xWays, or Max Win, and three open a TV game. Nothing else starts a bonus, since the game has no Scatter symbol.

Regular wins use 243 ways across five reels of three rows. A symbol has to appear on reel 1 and on each reel after it without a gap, and every extra copy on a reel adds another way, so two Loners on reel 2 pay the same combination twice. Infectious xWays and xSplit add positions to the board, which raises the way count for that spin only.

Big Wilds matter most on reels 2 to 4 because every way has to pass through them. A 3×3 Big Wild covering all three middle reels leaves reels 1 and 5 to decide the win on their own.

RTP and Bets

The RTP is 96.06%. Loner takes bets from €0.20 up to €200, double the €100 that most Nolimit City games stop at. The two Booster modes return within a tenth of a point of that figure, so choosing one changes how often the TV games come round and hardly touches the return.

Symbol Payouts

The table is short at the top. The Loner himself pays 5x for five, the four themed symbols fall from 2.5x to 1.25x, and the card ranks are nearly flat, with the ace at 1.25x and the other four at 1x. A Wild completes any of these rows, but it never takes a Monitor’s place.

Ultimate Slots Verdict

Swapping free spins for three TV games gives Loner a bonus with more variety than most, from a one-pick bomb to a five-shot duck hunt, and every channel has a route to Max Win. The trade is a lower cap than the studio's newer releases and a paytable that tops out at 5x, so the big results rely on the channels landing. It's a well-made, funny slot with a smaller top end.

3.9/5 Very Good

✓ What We Like

  • Three different TV games replace free spins, and each one has a route to Max Win
  • Monitors add Wilds, xSplit, and Infectious xWays to regular spins, not only to the bonus
  • Lo-fi pizza, static, and duck-tape art with a clear sense of humour

✗ What Could Be Better

  • The maximum win is small beside the studio's later six-figure caps
  • The best symbol pays only 5x for five
  • xBet Double Feature costs 35x a spin and still needs reel 5 to deliver the third Monitor

Detailed Review

Nothing Else On TV

The whole game happens on one old TV in a grubby flat. A VCR above the set shows the title, a slice of pizza hangs off its corner, and the reels are grainy pixel art of a man eating pizza, an “Order 1 For 2” phone, and a rubber duck wrapped in tape. It belongs on the site’s retro shelf, and the joke is Nolimit City’s own pitch, a couch potato alone with his screen.

The TV games are the better idea here. Free spins would have meant a batch of extra spins on the same reels, where the best symbol pays 5x. Three Monitors lead to a bouncing logo, a single pick, or a five-shot duck hunt instead, and each can go from a small prize to the maximum in one move. Most of this review’s praise goes to those channels.

The price is the cap. 14,999x is modest next to San Quentin 2, which the studio released later in 2024 with a 200,000x top prize. The paytable is thin, and xBet Double Feature at 35x a spin is easy to read as a shortcut when it only sets up two of the three Monitors.

Wins still come often. The hit rate is 28.04%, so more than a quarter of spins pay something, even if most of those pays are small. Two Monitors landing and reel 5 coming up blank is the tension the game runs on, and it happens a lot.

As a demo to explore, Loner is easy to like. As a chase for a huge multiple, other Nolimit City titles go further.

Frequently Asked Questions

Its bonus comes from three TV Monitors instead. When Monitors land on reels 1, 3, and 5 at once, the set switches to Pin The Win, Tick Tick Boom, or Shoot Shoot Duck, or awards Max Win straight away.
Pin The Win pays a corner prize of 1x to 1,000x, multiplied by a figure between 1x and 500x, or Max Win. Tick Tick Boom reveals 5x to 1,000x or Max Win from a single pick. In Shoot Shoot Duck, each symbol duck is worth 1x to 100x, while Bomb and Van ducks collect the awards on screen, so a Loner duck hunt can finish well above 100x.
It places Monitors on reels 1 and 3 on every spin, so only reel 5 has to add the third for a TV game. The cost is 35x the normal bet per spin, and Loner's symbol pays stay the same.
