About Game

Haunted Hallows Overview

90.740%, and nothing else behind it, shocking! Eyecon normally markets a classic as a pair, a 95% version and a 93% version, and leaves the operator to install one of them. This 2018 Halloween slot arrives on a single setting, published as 91% and carried in the rules to three decimal places, which puts it more than four points under the balance of the studio’s range. The board is small enough that you can see where that went. Three reels, three rows, nine diagrammed paylines, and a symbol pays only when all three reels show it.

Gameplay Options

Nine Lines on Nine Cells

The help draws each of the nine paylines on a miniature grid, straight rows, diagonals, and zigzags, over a board only three positions wide. Line wins run left to right, each live line counts its best combination alone, and totals from separate lines are added. The Haunted Hallows logo stands in for every symbol bar the two scatters and heads the sheet at 111.11x, so one of them can complete several lines from a single position. Nothing in the rules attaches a multiplier to it, so a line it finishes returns the replaced symbol’s ordinary figure, with none of the doubling the studio puts on its 25-line reels.

8 Free Games

Tripling reaches the scatter pays here, not just the lines. Three Candy symbols anywhere award 8 free games, and across those eight, the Candy’s own 1x return climbs with everything else, so a second Candy trio within the feature is worth 3x. Each free game runs at the line count and stake already set, and the multiplier is the only difference from a paid spin. Retriggers are capped at 15, a long allowance bolted onto a round that starts at eight.

The Prize Pick

The Jack o’ Lantern is the scatter that pays nothing by itself. Three of them anywhere award three picks, and the rules state each pick can award a prize of “up to 111x the total wager”, with the amounts revealed added together. That quoted phrase is the largest number this game commits to in its help, and it lands within a decimal of the logo’s line pay, reached by tapping a pumpkin rather than filling a row. No reels turn once the screen opens, and the feature closes the moment the third pick is spent.

Halloween in Flat Colour

Haunted Hallows idle 3x3 reels showing a black cat, a skull, potion flasks, jack o' lanterns and a ghost
Black cat, candle-lit skull, potion flasks and two jack o’ lanterns on the idle board. The cat returns 0.22x for a completed line, and the flask returns 0.11x, so the symbols that fill the grid most often are the two cheapest on the sheet.

The symbol set is a party rather than a fright. A witch crossing a full moon, a stitched green Frankenstein head, a candle burning on a cracked skull, a fanged white ghost, a black cat, a skull-marked potion flask, and a grinning jack-o’-lantern, all drawn in the bright flat style Eyecon uses across its cartoon slots. Behind the reels, a black house stands under a navy sky with bare branches reaching over it. This is 2018 artwork wrapped around a cabinet shape from decades earlier, and the art does more for the page than the numbers do.

How to Play

Trios or Nothing

Haunted Hallows reels with three ghosts across the top row and the game logo on the middle line between two potion flasks
Three ghosts fill the top row at 1.11x while the Haunted Hallows logo takes the middle line between two potion flasks. The badge beside the grid keeps all 9 lines live, so one board can pay on two rows together.

A win needs all three reels showing the same symbol, because three columns leave nowhere for a fourth to land, so every row of the sheet carries one figure. Two matching symbols and a miss return nothing. On nine paylines squeezed into nine positions, that near-line shape arrives constantly, and what softens it on Eyecon’s wider grids, premium symbols paying from two, has no equivalent here. One spin control is to the right of the board with no speed toggle next to it, though at three reels, a round settles fast enough that nobody would reach for one.

RTP and Bet Values

Inside the demo, the game rules put the RTP at 90.740%. Eyecon publishes a rounded 91% for the same game, and there is no second version listed underneath it, which is unusual for a studio that ships most of its catalogue as a pair of published builds. The table below carries both numbers. Haunted Hallows uses the board and the feature set of Fiddle Dee Dough, down to the nine lines, the single-tier sheet, the 8 tripled free games, and the three-pick bonus, and that title returns 95.116%. One machine, two returns, more than four points apart.

The bet panel offers a lines slider and a bet-per-line slider and shows no endpoint on either, so the game states no stake range, and it states no maximum win anywhere either.

Haunted Hallows Paytable

One column, and the steps between the rows are steep. The logo leads at 111.11x and the witch takes roughly a third of that at 33.33x. Frankenstein drops to 11.11x, and from there, the sheet falls away hard: the skull at 2.22x, the ghost at 1.11x, the black cat at 0.22x, and the potion flask at 0.11x. Four of the seven line symbols return 2.22x or less for a completed line and two of them return less than the stake that bought the spin. The Candy scatter is outside all of it, paying 1x for three anywhere, more than a black cat line and less than a ghost line.

Ultimate Slots Verdict

Eyecon built this board once and runs it at 95.116% elsewhere. Haunted Hallows is the same nine lines, the same single-tier sheet, and the same two features at 90.740%, with no higher version behind it. The Halloween art is the better half of it, and a three-pick bonus worth up to 111x is most of the rest.

2/5 Below Average

✓ What We Like

  • Two scatters driving two separate features on a nine-cell board
  • Three picks at up to 111x each in the Prize Pick, with the amounts added together
  • Scatter wins are tripled through the free games, not only line wins
  • Up to 15 retriggers on a round that opens at just 8 games
  • The logo replaces seven symbols and still heads the paytable at 111.11x
  • Bright, well-drawn Halloween symbols that read clearly at this board size

✗ What Could Be Better

  • 90.740% is more than four points below the same board under Eyecon's Irish skin
  • Only one published build exists, so there is no better setting to look for
  • The potion flask and the black cat return less than the stake for a completed line

Detailed Review

Haunted Hallows Play Review

Two out of five, and one figure settles it decisively. A return of 90.740% is the lowest in Eyecon’s line-up by a clear distance, and it is on a board the studio already runs at 95.116% in a different costume. The rest of this review is a description of what those four points cost.

Begin with what the two games share, because it is close to everything. Nine lines over nine cells. One paying tier per symbol. Two scatters, one opening 8 tripled free games with 15 retriggers available, the other opening a bonus of three picks. A logo that replaces every symbol except those scatters and heads the sheet on its own. Swap a leprechaun for a witch and a pot of gold for a pumpkin, and the specification does not move. The return does.

The difference shows up in the part of the sheet a player encounters most often. The potion flask returns 0.11x for a completed line and the black cat 0.22x, so the majority of finished lines on this grid hand back less than the spin cost. On a board of nine positions, the cheap symbols are the ones you see, and at 90.740%, they are doing most of the maths.

The features are the honest defence. Eight free games is a short round, and tripling the scatter wins alongside the lines is a real addition rather than a label, since the Candy pays on its own account. The Prize Pick is better again: three picks, nothing to line up, amounts added together, and it is the one route to a figure worth remembering. A player who never lands three pumpkins never sees the best part of the game.

Decent Enough Art

The art is the strongest offering. A witch crossing the moon, a candle guttering on a skull, a ghost with fangs, and a thoroughly smug black cat, flat and bright against a black house under a navy sky. Eyecon has been building for bingo lobbies since the late nineties, and the cartoon register runs through the studio’s catalogue. This is one of its better-drawn sets. Eyecon’s own game page still renders the title as “Hunted Hallows”, a small sign of where a Halloween one-off sat in the 2018 schedule.

So, the skin has to carry a return its own twin beats by more than four points on identical rules, and it can’t. The reels are quick, the pick screen is decent, and the symbols are drawn with care. None of that offsets four points, and free play is the version of this slot where the gap carries no price.

Frequently Asked Questions

Both describe the same build. 91% is the rounded figure the studio markets, and the game rules give the exact value to three decimal places. Only one build exists, so the two numbers are one return stated twice.
No. Haunted Hallows runs on a single published setting at 90.740%. Most Eyecon classics arrive as a 95% and a 93% pair for an operator to choose between, and this title has no such pair.
Each new trio of Candy symbols landing within the feature adds another 8 games, and that can happen up to 15 times. The allowance is long relative to the round it extends, so the feature can run well beyond its opening eight.
Nine paylines cross only nine positions, so a single spin puts two matching symbols on several lines at once. A line pays only when all three reels match, and there is no tier below that, so two out of three returns nothing.
The black cat at 0.22x and the potion flask at 0.11x. Haunted Hallows carries seven line symbols and four of them return 2.22x or less for a completed line, so most wins on this grid are small ones.
