Cherry Pop Burst Opens Like a Wellness Ad, Then Detonates
Cherry Pop Burst opens on a calm, almost otherworldly soundtrack. Pastel bubbles drift across a pink and purple screen, fruit symbols glow inside jelly spheres, and for a few seconds the whole thing feels like a wellness ad. Then you press spin. A second musical layer drops on top of the ambient loop, the two tracks fail to agree on key or tempo, and the mood the visuals worked so hard to build collapses. AvatarUX’s PopWins sequel is a pretty slot that keeps tripping over its own sound design, and the feature experience during our demo session had the same uneven quality.
PopWins Expansions, Random Multipliers and the Fortune Flip Wheels
The mechanical core is PopWins, AvatarUX’s house system where winning symbols burst and are replaced by two stacked symbols, building taller reels within a single spin. Sitting around that are a climbing multiplier that rises with every pop, three tiers of free spins you can trigger or buy directly, and a Fortune Flip gamble wheel that lets you press your luck at the end of any bonus round.
How PopWins Works
Cherry Pop Burst runs on five reels that start three symbols high with 243 ways to win. Each winning cluster pops, disappears, and is replaced by two symbols stacked where the single symbol sat. Reel height climbs as long as new wins land. In regular spins the grid can grow to six symbols tall, giving 7,776 ways at the upper limit. In the bonus the ceiling lifts to nine symbols per reel, and the ways count hits a maximum of 59,049.
Random Multipliers on Regular Spins
A multiplier meter sits to the left of the grid. Each pop raises the meter by +1 starting from 2x, and it resets at the end of the round. Chasing a long chain of pops is the main route to turning a small cluster win into a chunky one. During feature spins the meter starts at a random 2x, 3x or 5x and keeps climbing from there with every pop.
Cherrylicious Free Spins
The XPress menu opens a three-tier ladder of free spin buys. Cherrylicious buys 5 spins at 75x the stake. Cherrylicious Plus runs 150x for 8 spins with a higher feature rate. Cherrylicious Max costs 300x for 12 spins with the highest feature rate. Random extra spins can also drop during the round, adding +1, +2, +3 or +4 to the counter when they land.
Fortune Flip Wheels
Every bonus round ends on the Fortune Flip screen. You can collect, gamble half of the win for a chance at 2x or 3x, or gamble the full amount for a chance at 3x or 10x. A lost gamble wipes the amount you risked, so it is an optional second risk layer on top of a round you already paid to enter.
Feature Buys and the Ante Bet
Direct access to the bonus sits on the XPress menu, which pulls up straight from the main reels. Alongside the three Cherrylicious tiers sit Fortune Spins at 3x per spin with guaranteed multipliers, plus an Ante Bet at 1.5x the stake that boosts bonus trigger frequency during regular play. The buy tiers run exactly as priced, with no additional spins and no bundled bonuses — direct access to whichever feature tier you paid for.
How to Play
Cherry Pop Burst Demo: Stacking Fruit From 243 Ways to 7,776
Every win starts with three or more matching fruit symbols on adjacent reels from the left. When they land, PopWins takes over. PopWins takes it from there, popping each winning symbol and replacing it with two stacked replacements until the grid expands or the chain runs dry. The minimum bet is £0.10 and the maximum is £100 per spin.
Symbol Paytable
Multipliers are shown as bet multiples for 3, 4 and 5 of a kind on adjacent reels.
| Symbol | 5 of a Kind | 4 of a Kind | 3 of a Kind |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cherries (Super High) | 15x | 7.5x | 4x |
| Banana | 8x | 4x | 2x |
| Watermelon | 6x | 3x | 1.5x |
| Orange | 5x | 2.5x | 1.2x |
| Green Apple | 4x | 2x | 1x |
| Grape | 4x | 2x | 1x |
| Plum | 2.5x | 1.2x | 0.8x |
| Blueberry | 2.5x | 1.2x | 0.8x |
| A, K, Q | 1.6x | 0.8x | 0.4x |
| J, 10, 9 | 1.2x | 0.6x | 0.2x |
XPress Feature Buy Costs
The XPress button opens a direct access menu with five options.
| Option | Cost | What You Get |
|---|---|---|
| Fortune Spins | 3x per spin | Guaranteed multipliers on every spin |
| Cherrylicious | 75x | 5 free spins, starter feature rate |
| Cherrylicious Plus | 150x | 8 free spins, higher feature rate |
| Cherrylicious Max | 300x | 12 free spins, highest feature rate |
| Ante Bet | +50% stake | Doubles natural bonus trigger rate |
Max Win and RTP
The max win on Cherry Pop Burst is 20,000x the stake, capped at round end. The headline RTP is 96.04%, with the feature buy versions sitting between 95.96% and 96.10%. Volatility is Medium-High, so clustered wins should arrive more frequently than on a very-high-variance release, though the tall-grid explosions that push toward the win cap remain rare events.
Ultimate Slots Verdict
Cherry Pop Burst gets the visual brief right and the audio brief wrong, and the result is a PopWins release that feels half-finished. Worth a few spins on mute, worth avoiding at the 75x buy unless you are bankrolled for the dry rounds.

Detailed Review
The Audio Problem
Cherry Pop Burst looks like the most expensive game AvatarUX have released this year. Pastel pinks, blues and purples fill the screen, fruit symbols glow inside jelly bubble frames, and the whole presentation reads as calm, almost therapeutic. Then the reels start turning. A second music track layers on top of the ambient loop, the two disagree on key and tempo, and the serenity the visuals spent thirty seconds building is gone. We muted it inside a dozen spins. That’s not where you want a player ending up two minutes into a session.
On mute, the slot makes its case properly. The reel expansion animation, where cleared symbols burst and two stacked replacements drop in, is the best visual Cherry Pop Burst has. Watching the grid climb from three rows toward six during a regular-play chain carries genuine momentum, and the fruit art holds up. The cherry and banana symbols glow with a warmth that fits the pastel palette. The card symbols are the weak link, slightly flat against a screen with this much personality around them, but they read cleanly at speed.
Inside the 75x Cherrylicious
Five Free Spins at the starter tier. Total return: 36.80 at a 1.00 stake. Half the cost of entry on a single round.
The Fortune Flip gamble bailed us out. We put the full 36.80 on the All-Gamble wheel, it caught a 3x, and the demo balance flipped green at 110.40 on a single spin of a wheel that could just as easily have wiped the lot. Without that landing, the Cherrylicious buy would have closed down heavy and the entire starter tier would have looked like a bad deal from a one-round sample.
Outside the bonus, the climbing multiplier is the feature doing real work. Every pop raises the meter by +1 from a starting 2x, and a chain of four or five pops in a row turns a small cluster win into something worth watching. The trouble is how rarely that chain materialises. Forty or fifty spins passed during our test without the ways count climbing past 1,500. The regular-spin limit is 7,776. We hit it once in the entire session.
You feel that distance on every spin. The starting grid sits at 243 ways and the top feels like a rumour.
The Ante Bet at 1.5x stake is the more measured entry for anyone who wants bonus frequency without writing a 75x cheque at the XPress counter every few minutes. Players with a session budget under 300x should avoid the buy tiers entirely.
