The Dog House Series

The Dog House has been going since 2019 and shows no signs of slowing down. What Pragmatic Play built with the original was deceptively simple: a suburban backyard, four cartoon dogs, and sticky multiplier wilds that could turn a modest free spins trigger into something much larger. Six years and seven entries later, those same dogs have dressed up as pirates, cowboys, and British aristocrats — and the sticky wild mechanic has survived every costume change.

That’s the thread running through the series. Each title finds a new setting, sometimes a new pay format, occasionally a structural overhaul, but the fundamental appeal stays the same: watching multiplier wilds lock into position across the free spins reels and calculating what the next few spins might do. It’s a loop that rewards patience over quick hits, which is probably why the original has consistently ranked among the most-played slots on the market years after release.

Dog House Slot’s Compared

The series is also a useful document of Pragmatic Play’s willingness to experiment within a known format. The Megaways version expanded the ways to win. Multihold tried four grids at once. Muttley Crew ditched paylines entirely for cluster pays. Royal Hunt pulled the formula back toward its roots after some of those experiments landed with mixed results. Free play demos of the titles available on this page are listed below, with the full series breakdown underneath.

  • The Dog House (2019) — The original. Five reels, three rows, 20 paylines. Wild symbols land on reels 2, 3, and 4 carrying a random 2x or 3x multiplier; if more than one contributes to a win, their values are added. In free spins, those wilds become sticky for the duration of the round, accumulating on the reels until the feature ends. Scatter symbols land on reels 1, 3, and 5 to trigger the bonus. Max win 6,750x, RTP 96.51%.
  • The Dog House Megaways (August 2020) — The first sequel, and arguably the most popular title in the series. Adopts Big Time Gaming’s Megaways engine on a six-reel grid, producing between 64 and 117,649 ways to win per spin as each reel generates 2 to 7 symbols. The wild multipliers remain at 2x or 3x, but the Megaways format means more symbols on screen amplifies their impact. A choice at the bonus trigger between Sticky Wilds Free Spins and Raining Wilds Free Spins adds a decision point the original lacked. Max win 12,305x, RTP 96.55%.
  • The Dog House Dice Show (January 2023) — A cosmetic reskin of the original. The dog and garden symbols are replaced with coloured dice, but the mathematical model is entirely unchanged — same 5×3 grid, same 2x/3x sticky wilds, same 6,750x cap, same 96.51% RTP. For players who prefer the dice visual style.
  • The Dog House Multihold (February 2023) — The most ambitious structural experiment in the series. The game opens on a single 5×3 grid, but each set of three scatters landed during free spins unlocks an additional grid, building toward four simultaneous reel sets. Sticky wilds accumulate independently across all active grids. Getting all four grids running with built-up wilds is where the real potential concentrates, though reaching that point isn’t guaranteed. Max win 9,000x, RTP 96.06%.
  • The Dog House – Dog or Alive (March 2024) — Returns to the original 5×3 payline format with a Wild West theme. The core mechanics are familiar, but a new retrigger system runs through the bonus: every third sticky wild that lands awards three additional free spins and doubles the multiplier values of all wilds currently on the grid. That progressive doubling is what pushed the max win ceiling up to 10,000x. RTP 96.52%.
  • The Dog House – Muttley Crew (October 2024) — The biggest format departure in the series. A pirate theme, a 5×5 grid, and a switch to cluster pays — five or more adjacent matching symbols rather than payline combinations. Wild treasure chest symbols carry random multipliers from 2x to 10x rather than the familiar 2x/3x values. In free spins, those wilds become sticky as usual. The cluster format spreads multipliers more widely across the grid than the original format allows, which changes the texture of the bonus round noticeably. Max win 7,500x, RTP 96.5%.
  • The Dog House – Royal Hunt (March 2025) — A return to the 5×3 payline format after the Muttley Crew experiment, this time with a British aristocracy theme and two distinct bonus modes. Standard Free Spins work as usual, with 2x/3x sticky wilds. Royal Free Spins (available via a 500x bonus buy in select markets) upgrades all wild multipliers to 10x or 20x for the duration of the feature. The free spins count is determined by a 3×3 grid reveal before the bonus begins, adding a brief anticipation beat ahead of the round. Max win 8,000x, RTP 96.51%.
