Beheaded Overview
For a horror slot strung with shrunken heads, the Beheaded demo closes its top bonus on a calm, deliberate choice. Two bottles appear when Tzantza Spins run out short of the maximum win. The Butterfly Bottle pays a guaranteed 5x to 8,000x. The Skull Bottle stakes the whole bonus win on the top prize or nothing, and the larger that win, the better its chance. The game’s rules even say which bottle returns more over time, and it’s the frightening one.
Demo Features
A Bar That Fills With Heads

Under the 5×4 reels runs a Progression bar with five levels, set at 15, 25, 50, 80, and 110 points. Each falling winner adds to it: 1 point for a medium head, 2 for a high head, and 3 for a W, the Wild that can become any paying symbol but never the Soul Jar. Points beyond a level roll into the next one, and the bar clears at the end of each round. Every level also awards Ayahuasca Spins, so free spins land 1 in 19 spins.
When the Eyes Light Up
Five head designs share the reels, a horned skull, a feathered woman, a stitched head, a bald elder, and a beaded head, and each one exists twice. The plain version is a medium symbol; the version with glowing blue eyes is a high one. Each new level on the bar converts medium heads into their high twins, and that swap is where the paytable changes shape. A horned skull that pays 1.5x for five as a medium symbol pays 9x once its eyes light up.
Three Soul Wilds
The three faces carved into the left side of the board are the Soul Wilds. The Happy face joins at level 1 and needs 4 souls, the Sad face comes in at level 3 and needs 10, and the Angry face waits for level 5 and needs 18. Souls come only from high heads falling out of a win. A face fires when its collector is full and nothing more can be collected; a collector that falls short empties until the next spin.
One, two, or three faces firing together open a 1×1, 2×2, or 3×3 Wild zone and multiply the general multiplier by 1, 2, or 3, after which it resets. A Soul Jar inside the zone adds one free spin. Per Lindheimer, Head of Product at Nolimit City, called the Soul Wilds “a twisted blessing” at launch. The numbers back him up, since the Angry face needs 18 souls and only high heads supply them, so the largest zone depends on the bar having converted the board first.
Built on Blood & Shadow
Beheaded grew out of Blood & Shadow, a July 2023 release at 96.13% with a 6,666x cap. That game’s Ritual Bar also had five levels and also turned medium symbols into highs, so the spine of this slot is familiar. Beheaded kept both ideas, more than doubled the cap, and added the Soul Wilds and the potion at the end. The bar is the inherited part; the decisions built around it are new.
Ayahuasca and Tzantza Spins
Ayahuasca Spins are the lower tier. Every new bar level up to level 4 adds 2 spins, and climbing into Tzantza Spins adds 6, while three of the medium heads are swapped for high ones. Tzantza Spins can also start directly, when three Soul Jar Scatters drop, and that jump pays 6 spins plus 2 for each level it skips. Within Tzantza Spins, every medium head is already a high head, and Tzantza Spins can reveal multipliers from a set of 20 values, the smallest 5 and the largest 8,000.
The Potion at the End
Pick A Potion appears when Tzantza Spins finish without the maximum win. The Butterfly Bottle guarantees between 5x and 8,000x. The Skull Bottle risks the entire bonus win for the 15,950x Headful Collection, with the chance of success set by how much the bonus has already paid. If it fails, the round pays nothing. According to the game’s rules, the all-or-nothing Skull is the pick that returns more to the player over the long run.
How to Play
Cut Reels and Connected Ways
Wins in Beheaded can bend. A symbol on the next reel counts toward a win if it’s on the same row as the symbol before it or one row higher or lower, so five of a kind can zigzag across the 5×4 board, and the grid allows up to 178 of these connected ways. Every chain has to start on the first reel.
After a win, Cut Reels removes each winning symbol along with everything below it on the same reel, and new symbols drop down into the space left behind. That cut does two jobs. It gives the board another chance to connect, and it’s the only way heads and Wilds reach the Progression bar, because points are scored by symbols falling out, not by symbols landing.
The xBet Booster
xBet is the only Nolimit City booster in the game. Switched on, it charges 2x the bet for each round and makes Tzantza Spins more likely to trigger. Symbol pays stay exactly as they are, and the Progression bar still begins at level 1, so the booster improves the odds of the top bonus without letting a round start any higher on the climb.
RTP Range
Bets fall within a €0.20 to €100 range, and the RTP comes as a range too: 95.99% to 96.03%, with 96.03% as the headline figure. The game’s own volatility label reads INSANE, which fits a board where the medium heads pay 1.5x or less for five until the bar converts them.
Symbol Payouts
The horned skull with glowing eyes leads at 9x for five, 6x for four, and 3x for three, while its medium version stops at 1.5x for five. The other four high heads step down from 7.5x to 3x for five, the five medium heads from 1.5x to 0.9x, and the bone letters from 0.75x for an A to 0.15x for a 10.

Neither the W nor the Soul Jar has a row of its own in the table.
Ultimate Slots Verdict
Pick A Potion ends the bonus on a question, and the rules answer it in the Skull Bottle's favour. The Progression bar that leads there keeps regular play busy, converts weak medium heads into payers of up to 9x, and unlocks three Soul Wilds on the way. The price is a main game that pays little on its own and a final gamble that can wipe out a strong Tzantza Spins round.
✓ What We Like
- Pick A Potion ends Tzantza Spins on a real choice, a guaranteed 5x to 8,000x or the whole win staked on the cap
- The five-level Progression bar upgrades medium heads to their glowing-eyed high versions as a round goes on
- Three Soul Wilds with separate targets of 4, 10, and 18 souls can open a 3x3 Wild zone and triple the general multiplier
✗ What Could Be Better
- Medium heads and bone letters pay 1.5x or less for five, so the main game leans on the bar and the bonus
- The Skull Bottle can turn a long Tzantza Spins run into nothing
Detailed Review
Butterfly or Skull
Some Nolimit City slots close a bonus by offering one more paid spin, and their rules advise declining it. Beheaded flips that advice. Its closing offer costs nothing extra, it arrives when the round is worth the most, and the rules back the riskier of the two options.
So, which bottle? Over many bonuses, the Skull, because the game says it returns more. In any one round, it’s harder than that. A strong Tzantza Spins total is the most there is to lose and also the best chance the Skull will pay, so the decision gets tougher exactly when the bonus has gone well. That pull between keeping a win and chasing the cap is the feeling the whole game is built to produce. In free play, the Skull costs nothing to try, which makes it the natural pick here.
The cost of the design is the main game. Medium heads pay 1.5x or less for five and the bone letters under 1x, so most of what Beheaded returns waits behind the bar and the bonus, and a Skull that misses can erase a long run in one pick.
Fans of the asylum horror of Mental will recognise the studio’s taste for grim subjects. This time it comes as a trophy hunter’s string of shrunken heads. In our view, the potion is the best idea in the game, and the bar that feeds it is strong enough to justify the climb.
